PREVIEW: GREYVILLE (DAY) - 4 MAY 2016
RACE 1:
7-6-4-1-5
QEYAADAH raced green on debut but looked promising. The one to beat. PRINCE MYSHKIN could improve on a moderate debut last time. JUST CRUISED IN makes his debut. Keep an eye on the betting. BARON BELLET did not show on debut. Drifted in the betting. May improve and place. PAPERBACK WRITER was supported on debut last time but never showed.
RACE 2:
2-6-5-7-1
DAWN CALLING has had three good runs and should be the one to beat. PHILADELPHIA XPRES fly jumped on debut last time. Can improve if breaking well. PHANTOM ROCK was green on debut and is another who could improve. TIME TO THINK lost three lengths at the start last time on debut. COSTA DA SOL is a MOGOK first timer. Watch the betting.
RACE 3:
4-3-7-12-9
AGUSTINA stayed on in an improved run last time. GORDON’S CUNGEE has been improving. OBLADI OBLADA has a chance on penultimate which was this C & D. POP STAR can go close on huge improvement last time. SI SI SENORA has a chance on penultimate start.
RACE 4:
3-4-11-1-8
NUNTIUS has the form after six runs (two seconds and four thirds) to take this race. SEATTLE LIGHT has not been too far back. Has placed second this C & D. PRINCESS IDA takes on the boys. Has had two steady runs. DYNAMIC FORCE disappointed last time. May improve with the blinkers. GOLD CHEST returns from a three and a half month break. Look for an improved effort.
RACE 5:
6-1-8-7-11
PYRENEES IN SPAIN will be running on. Top Cape Town jockey aboard. Ignore the latest effort of BUSTER BROWN. Forced to over race. ARGO'S JET has been improving. Has a shout. TEXAS COWBOY has run into problems late. Can get it right. ROY’S MARCIANO improved with a change in tactics last time. Ran on well late.
RACE 6:
2-3-5-8-1
CHENNAI BABE has the form and loves this C & D (3 from 4). Will fight this out. IMPALA LILY is running well in KZN. Should be the main challenger. VICTORY TAKEOVER has weakened in her last two. Capable at best. FRENCH LASS stayed on last time and could be ready to improve once again. BROWN SUGAR has disappointed in her last two. Will need to get back to best.
RACE 7:
2-6-3-5-1
MUMSY'S JET will not throw in the towel without a fight. Has excellent form this C & D and should be finishing well. MOUNTAIN MASTER showed improvement in his KZN seasonal debut last time. Top Cape Town trainer and jockey. ASPARA made his KZN debut last time. Will improve this track. LAST TIGER won well last time. Good form. Win a possibility. SABADELL is right off form but drops in class with a 4 kg apprentice allowance.
RACE 8:
1-6-2-3-5
TANJIRO has very good form. Drops in class. Should be the one to beat. PETITE MASTER has been lightly raced. Can challenge. SECRET WARNING will doing his best work late. JONOVICH drops in class. Won well at this track over further last time. MR MCSTEAMY may be better than post maiden effort last time.
BEST BET: RACE 1 NUMBER 7 QEYAADAH
BEST VALUE: RACE 7 NUMBER 2 MUMSY'S JET
