PREVIEW: VAAL - 17 MAY 2016
RACE 1:
4-7-6-11-8
Mostly first timers but DAQEEQ has been well backed already. ORAPA is another first timer. Watch Richard Fourie at the Vaal today. LE TIGRE ran his best race in five when going close this C & D last time. SEE YOU JIMMY has shown something to date. PORCUPINE CREEK may improve on a fair debut last time.
RACE 2:
4-3-12-14-13
EKTIFAA has been heavily supported in both starts. Has to be worth a shout. CYBER MAGIC will need a better finish. Has top apprentice aboard. SEATTLE SINGER has had four consecutive seconds from four starts. Race against far stronger in a feature at Scottsville last time. Can win this. WIND CHILL is a SILVANO first timer. Has to be given a chance. TRIP QUEENS is TRIPPI first timer from the top yard presently in the country.
RACE 3:
3-7-5-8-11
MIRACLE BUREAU won his maiden and post maiden in his latest two starts, but both on the inside track at Turffontein. Could be in line for the hat trick. ROCK SOLID was a trifle unlucky in his post maiden last time. Has to be considered to make amends. LAST BATTLE is in good form and five of his eight wins have been over this C & D. TOMMY WATERDEVIL has yet to run a bad race. TOKYO DRIFT shows pace but weakens late.
RACE 4:
3-7-11-9-5
FORT MEYERS has very good form and drops in class. Should be too strong for this field. NETFLIX may improve on recent form. NEW FORT has had a few issues and hard luck stories in recent times. Can challenge. HIGH DRAMA takes on stronger but has a shout. Top jockey aboard. MY TREASURE will need a better finish.
RACE 5:
2-3-4-8-9
AMERICAN TIGER showed huge improvement last time when running on over slightly shorter. SCOTLAND ran on well in his post maiden last time. WILD HORIZON showed good and steady improvement before winning his maiden at the third attempt last time. AQUA BLUE has steady form. Young apprentice in excellent form. GENTLEMAN JACK can earn if repeating penultimate run
RACE 6:
6-3-5-14-13
KALANCHOE won a good race and easily last time. Top yard. Can repeat. NIKKI should be fighting on late. GAINS TAX showed improvement in her second post maiden run last time. MY LOVELY will have a shout with only 52 kg on her back. COTE DE PABLO did make a late effort in a somewhat improved run last time.
RACE 7:
1-5-4-8-2
WHITELINE FEVER has not won in over two years. Must have a shout against this field if replicating previous and earlier form. Top yard and jockey. DENNIS THE MENACE is maintaining his good form. FINCHATTON will be a threat this C & D. Top yard and jockey. MASTER'S SPIRIT has disappointed in his last two. May improve. FOREST FOX has had issues but can improve.
RACE 8:
4-8-12-11-13
TABREEK is in good form. Slightly disappointing with blinkers on last time. Off today. Has run well this C & D. HIDDEN AGENDA has won two from four. First time this far but should see it out. ARAMOUSE ran well on debut two runs back and deservedly won his maiden impressively last time. Should be right there if not needing to confirm. AWESOME ADAM has run well in his two post maiden runs. PISTOLERO won his maiden at the third attempt last time. Had two very good maiden runs prior to that.
