PREVIEW: VAAL - 19 MAY 2016
RACE 1:
8-2-7-1-4
SIDE SHOW made a good debut last time. Very good chance on that run. HEAVENLY BLUE is an Australian bred first timer. SHOTGUN RIDER has been improving with each run.BLAZING WINTER was moderate on debut. Looks to be better than that. PAMPIERSTAD made a fair debut last time but returned with respiratory noises.
RACE 2:
4-3-1-6-5
LEGEND SEEKER hung on debut last time. Looks promising though. KINGS CREEK has been showing improvement. BELLE ROSE can also be expected to make improvement. Two decent runs. MATING CALL stayed on when making her debut last time. LIGHT HOUSE LADY did not make a good debut last time but may improve to place.
RACE 3:
2-1-6-3-10
ROARING TIGER has been improving gradually. Could go all the way today. PACHUCO has had some promising starts thus far. KEEP ON FLYING is a slow starter. BUBBLY REPLY was not too far back on Saturday. Best run to date. GIVEMEHOPE improved by six lengths in his second start last time. May be better this distance.
RACE 4:
14-12-8-13-1
SWEET SERENADE has had promising starts and should go close. GOLDEN ATTITUDE has had two good runs. Should be the closest challenger. CHOOK made a promising debut in December 2014. Has not raced since. May go close if not needing a run. LIGHT INDIGO finished second on debut last time but quite a distance behind. ROSE WATER was unlucky last time. Can get closer.
RACE 5:
6-8-2-12-3
NIGHT EDITOR tries the shortest trip today. Has been weakening over slightly further. Tactics may be preferable this distance. STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN is never far back, especially over this distance, his best so far. HIGH GAME will have a chance if repeating penultimate start. Both SHANNON'S BOY and DREAM LEADER both ran on last Thursday and both finished less than a length behind the winner in the same race. Don't ignore either.
RACE 6:
2-4-1-5-8
TOP SHOT has excellent form. Has run better than fourth in twelve of his thirteen runs thus far and with three wins. Expect another good run. MACHISMO found a good finish late last time. Top yard. Stable companion, MERCADO, drops in class. ENBHARR has been costly to follow. Can never be ignored though. A changer of tactics by BELENOS last time almost paid dividends. Chance if repeating that effort.
RACE 7:
3-1-4-6-13
JIN-GO-LO-BA has to be the one to beat on current form. Will be running on and post maiden form has been very good. SHE'S A LOOKER lacks consistency. May improve. Put a line through the latest run by. SNOWDONIA. She is way better than that run. CAMBRIDGE CHOIR is not without a chance. Stayed on last time. MOVIE AWARD has showed very good improvement in her last two.
RACE 8:
4-2-3-11-1
POST GRAD was hampered at the start last time. Never ran a bad race that day. Could be finding extra late. DRUID'S TEMPLE won his maiden at the third attempt last time. Ran two fair races before that. DUZI MOON won her maiden at the eighth attempt last time. UNAGI is a two year old who did it at the third try last time. Could be progressive. WOTTAHOTTIE may be improving to find a place.
BEST BET: RACE 7 NUMBER 3 JIN-GO-LA-BA
BEST VALUE: RACE 1 NUMBER 8 SIDE SHOW
BEST OUTSIDER: RACE 8 NUMBER 4 POST GRAD
