PREVIEW: VAAL- 28 JUNE 2016
RACE 1:
BONNIE DAWN (4) won well on debut last time when unfancied. Look for another good run. BRITISH ROYALE (2) ran well on debut two runs back and followed that up with a good win last time. These two should fight it out. APPROVAL MODE (1) has been a bit off form since winning his first two runs. Did show that he could be back to form last time. Don't ignore. LE TIGRE (3) took seven runs before winning his maiden last time. May need to confirm. WAGON MASTER (6) may place. Very moderate debut last time.
RACE 2:
FLAMING MAD (13) made a good debut last time. The one to beat on that run. Takes on the "boys". JUSTASH (4) did not show last time. Has run better than that. THE WITNESS (3) may improve with the blinkers. ROYAL REGATTA (2) could also improve with the blinkers. Has lost form though. Better than most recent two runs. AFGAS (10) has improved in his last two.
RACE 3:
AQUABUOY (4) weakens slightly late. Could be worth a small wager. UPOSEUPAY (3) ran his best race in twenty three last time. Could be worth considering for the win. Needs to confirm though. RED REBEL (2) has been improving. AIR FORCE LEGEND (1) is never too far back. DEVIOUS XANDRE (5) will need to improve drastically for the win but can place.
RACE 4:
KNYSNA ROSE (14) impressed on debut last time despite missing the break. Should come on with that run. Good chance today. ARTEMISIA (11) has had two good runs and is improving. Slow in both starts though. SEAL MY FATE (1) ran on strongly two runs back. Needs to repeat. CAPRICIOUS (2) races for the twenty fifth time as a maiden and without blinkers. May improve. SWEET CHESTNUT (3) weakens but yard and jockey in good form.
RACE 5:
RIVERINE FOREST (3) has won her last two. Hat trick chance. LAVENDER GIRL (4) has improved in her last two. CUTE LADY (5)needs a better finish but has top jockey aboard. LAKAHAL (12) confirmed her improvement last time with a win. SHIVER 'N SHAKE (7) may be improving again.
RACE 6:
MAGIC (7) will be running on and has been improving. ALL NIGHT FLIGHT (10) has steady form. Yard in good form and has top apprentice aboard. RAFA (4) ran on in an improved run last time. RED ROCK (5) is a two year old who has faced stronger in feature races. Top yard. FIDELIO (2) has excellent form this C & D. Watch!
RACE 7:
MOMBELA (1) has good form. Travels this far for the first time. Should get there. Top yard in the country. WOTTAHOTTIE (11) ran on in an improved run last time. Could upset. GOLDEN MAN (7) ran very well last time. Can confirm that run. APPLE CRUMBLE (6) has won two from three. Won this C & D on debut three runs back. Yard in top form. PACHUCO (10) won his maiden easily at the seventh attempt last time. Will need to confirm. Top yard.
RACE 8:
FLOWING GOWN (5) won this C & D last time when running on. Can repeat. Has won two from her last three. MOVIE AWARD (4) is also C & D suited. Should be running on again. SAMARRA (6) has improved in her last three. One to consider. MATILDA’S DAUGHTER (11) weakened in the latter stages of her post maiden run last time. Can find a place. VICTOR'S CASTLE (13) has good post maiden form and can go on from that run.
