PREVIEW: VAAL- 30 JUNE 2016
RACE 1:
ELECTRIC LADY (1) was not disgraced in her post maiden last time. Looks to be the one to beat. WRECKING BALL (5) won on debut last time when unfancied. One to watch! JEWEL QUEST (3) won her maiden at the third attempt last time. It was a good win. May need to confirm though. HAMUNAPTRA (2) did not show in her post maiden last time. Change of stables may help. ASHA AMAZAMBANE (6) is a PHILANTHROPIST first timer.
RACE 2:
DIABLO CANYON (1) did not show on Thursday last week. Is better than that run. Chance on previous. TIMEOFTHEVIKINGS (10) showed huge improvement second time at the races last time. SABRE DANCE (8) ran on when making his debut last time. One to consider for the win as well. SOUL PILGRIM (3) has improved in his last two runs. A challenger. LAST HUNT (6) is a KAHAL first timer. Keep an eye on the betting.
RACE 3:
BECKONING (8) ran on well on debut last time. Is one to consider as a serious runner. QUEEN LAURIE (9) showed very good improvement in her second run last time. Has to be included. A filly that could be ready to improve is RIBBONOFMOONLIGHT (2). PIPPI SHORTSTOCK (1) has threatened for a while now. Can pop up this afternoon. Distance suited. SEPTEMBER BLOOM (11) weakened slightly on debut last time. Can place.
RACE 4:
EVERSILVER (6) ran her best race in ten last time when finishing well. Time to confirm that improvement. SEATTLE SURPRISE (4) has proved to be inconsistent. There is not much to get past in this race. LINDY LU (2) has been consistent. May improve at this track. LILY OF THE FORT (8) ran well on Saturday when finishing a close up second. Not to be ignored. FLYING DREAM (1) is also not out of it and has consistent form.
RACE 5:
HIDDEN AGENDA (4) ran on strongly last time in an improved run. Should take a power of beating if repeating. NATION BUILDER (3) has been consistent and should challenge. MODJADJI (6) is off form and any return to form could see her in the shake up. URGENT FURY (5) returned with respiratory noises last time. Is steady but has not won in thirteen months. KOPI LUWAK (8) needs to recapture earlier form to make an impact.
RACE 6:
MAN'S INN (8) made a stout effort over 1800m last time. IN THE CRUISE (3) is never too far back and will be finishing well. FORT MYERS (4) has very good and appealing form. Las win was over the same distance. Has been weakening ever so late in recent runs. EASY LOVER (1) can feature with a drop in class. was unlucky in the Jubilee last time when bumped at the start. Was not disgraced that day. KINGS ARCHER (5) won over the distance last time when running on. Can go close.
RACE 7:
SON OF APPROVAL (8) takes on a bit stronger but has run well against some decent sorts before. he is in good form and did run on last time. DAWN ASSAULT (3) ran very well in his post maiden last time. Looks to be a promising sort. CHAMPIONS CUP (9) may improve with the blinkers. DE LUJO (5) was moderate at the Vaal last week. Has the ability to improve today. NIGHT RAIDER (6) finished behind DE LUJO last time. Should do so again today.
RACE 8:
TAEGAN'S JET (11) takes a sizeable drop in trip from previously run races. Will have the blinkers on today. Form over further has been decent. Could be the one to win. TOM FOOL (3) is capable and has improved in his last two starts. SHEPHERDS WARNING (4) is holding form well. Can win this. DAYTONA CHARGER (13) will need to go some to overcome his dull form. Can find a place. BIG STRIKE (7) showed sudden improvement last time. Not a confident selection but consider form of yard.
BEST BET: RACE 5 NUMBER 4 HIDDEN AGENDA
BEST VALUE: RACE 7 NUMBER 8 SON OF APPROVAL
BEST OUTSIDER: RACE 8 NUMBER 11 TAEGAN'S JET
