PREVIEW: GREYVILLE (POLY) - 27 JULY 2016

Following further 100mm of overnight rain, total of 300mm in last 3 days and a waterlogged track, todays GREY racemeeting has been abandoned.

 


There are more scratchings for this meeting than listed below. Please check the media

RACE 1:

There are too many first timers in this race. Keep an eye on the betting. The following to watch could be MERMAID SIREN (6), SILVER CAUSEWAY (12), SUPREME VISION (14), MUNGO CHERRY (8), and MAPLE STORY (5) as well as SECRETARIAT'S GIRL (17) who have the benefit of  runs.

RACE 2:

Once again a whole host of first timers. ROCK OF AFRICA (11) has had three runs and his best run was last time over this C & D. Unless there is some special first timer, he should be the one to beat.  First timers to watch are FIGARO (5), JUDDERNAUT (8), PINBALL (10) and SEA PATH (13).

RACE 3:

This could be a race between LIFE IS GOOD (8) and KIMBERLEY (7). A number of first timers could come in to the reckoning. You could follow CONSTANTINE (2), ANANDA (1) and GROUND BREAKER (5).

RACE 4:

INTERCEPT (14) ran on when making her debut last time. WHITE ROSE (15) has made two promising runs from two. PIPPIN (2) will be doing her best work late. FLY REBECCA FLY (7) has been improving slowly. LIBERTY MARKET (3) has threatened on two occasions.

RACE 5:

GOLD SAIL (5) found an excellent finish last time in an improved run. Blinkers on today, LORD LUTON (4) may improve with the blinkers on today. HEARTS ‘R PUMPING (1) will need to repeat previous two starts. LE CHEIK (6) is one who could place if at best. KINGS ELEVEN (3) has a definite money chance.

RACE 6:

AT LONG LAST (2) looks hard to beat on latest run. MAMBO (1) lost penultimate on objection. Disappointed last time. FOR EVER (4) will need to find more late. BLUE OCEAN (7) may improve. HANDSOME HARVEY (5) stayed on in an improved run last time.

RACE 7:

TIMEOUS (1) was returning from a lengthy break last time and ran well. Drops in class. GINGER BISCUIT (2) will challenge and is C & D suited. RAIN IN AFRICA (6) ran on well to win her maiden over this C & D last time. Could be worth following. LUNA SEA (8) may improve with the blinkers. NOVA (10) ran a fair post maiden last time.

RACE 8:

REDCARPET CAPTAIN (2) has raced against far stronger. Must have a shout. THE STONE THROWER (5) must have a very good chance of winning for the second time before returning to Cape Town. KAPITAN (10) did not show on his polytrack debut last time. Another chance? EXECUTIVE POWER (6) has good form. Respect. HIGHWAY EXPLORER (11) is improving. Blinkers on!

RACE 9:

SHOGUN (8) was an unlucky loser of his post maiden last time. Won his maiden this C & D. SEA URCHIN (7) won this C & D last time. Has a definite shout. ROYAL ROY (16) is never too far back. OUT MY WAY (4) could be improving. TIME MARCHES ON (1) could place at best.

 BEST BET: RACE 3 NUMBER 8 LIFE IS GOOD

BEST VALUE: RACE 6 NUMBER 2 AT LONG LAST

BEST OUTSIDER: RACE 5 NUMBER 5 GOLD SAIL
