BEAUTIFUL JET (5) had good form before being rested for almost four months. TEREPOVA (3) is never far back but needs a better finish. TOPOGRAPHY (6) had excuses last time. The apprentice allowance of 4 kg to help. SOUNDS POSITIVE (10) is holding form well. Ran on last time. REIGNING WAVE (1) will finish well.

RACE 2:

CROWD PLEASER (4) has top form. The one to beat. THE ROCK (12) has had two steady runs. SPEED OF AFRICA (11) needs to start well. SONAR ACTIVE (10) is improving slowly. ROY'S YEVAHN (9) weakens over shorter. May improve.

RACE 3:

ROY IS SECOND (8) ran on well in an improved run last time. THE MERRY WIDOW (1) had won first three starts. Has run well against some competitive fields. Should run well again. ARISSA (3) has more to find on latest run. A WOMENS WAY (2) won on debut last time. Could be worth following. LA REVERE (5) also won on debut last time.

RACE 4:

OVER SURE (7) has been running well against some strong fields. Should go close. FLYING MYTH (1) has won two from three on the Highveld. Could be the one to beat. WRECKING BALL (9) is unbeaten after two, both at the Vaal. SEATTLE SINGER (11) ran a good post maiden in the Grade 1 Gold Medallion last time. That form could be strong in this race. OCEAN DRIVE SOUTH (5) could place at best.

RACE 5:

DAWN CALLING (4) has yet to finish worse than third in six starts with one win and four seconds. FINAL JUDGMENT (5) will not give in without a fight. SAIL (13) ran on well in the Golden Slipper last time. Promising sort. QUERARI FALCON (11) ran well in her post maiden last time. POSTER GIRL (10) could be improving. Watch!

RACE 6:

ZODIAC RULER (11) has won both starts. Looks destined to reach the top. Follow again. MISTY BIRNAM (4) has run four times for two wins and two seconds. Has ZODIAC RULER to beat though. GUNNER (3) ran a fair post maiden last time. Won ion debut the run before. Has more to find for the win. PALLADIUM (5) has won two from three. Soundly beaten by ZODIAC RULER last time. STEP UP (9) won well last time but still has more to find.

RACE 7:

HELDERBERG BLUE (2) has not won for twenty one months but looks ready to again soon. Form has been good. MASTER SABINA (1) was not disgraced in the July last time despite running into problems late on. THE CENTENARY (7) stays well and ran on nicely last time. CAPE SPEED (10) may battle as a three year old but has won his last three starts. Can earn. ARCH RIVAL (8) has won over the distance and goes for the hat trick.

RACE 8:

PUNTA ARENAS (2) won on July Day. Won this C & D last season. MARINARESCO (11) will start as worthy favourite on his great run in the Durban July. Will be fitting for his trainer, Mike Bass, who has been honoured for his services to racing. Will be most people's choice and rightly so. SARATOGA DANCER (7) has the form and will be running on. Has placed third this C & D. BARITONE (13) has not recaptured his Cape Town form this season. Expect a good run. ST TROPEZ (9) ran way below par in the July. Watch!

RACE 9:

ZANTE (6) can win from the front. Enjoys it this way. DEPUTY RYDER (2) runs well at this track and is a C & D winner. OLMA (1) ran a great second to INARA in the Garden Province last time. INTERGALACTIC (8) has been running in top class fields and was not far behind OLMA last time. GATHERING FAME (5) weakened badly last time. More to find today. LALA (11) could be the big improver tonight.

RACE 10:

ISCA (11) ran on well to win last time. wide draw tonight. Will have to go some to repeat. ARABIAN NATIONAL (12) has a strong chance with such excellent form over the C & D. ERNIE (2) timed his  run far too late last time. HARRY LIME (10) has ability but has been weakening. KINGSTON BOY (4) has been racing over further but has won three times over the distance.

RACE 11:

DIAMOND KING (5) looks set for a big run this evening. Should be a good value bet. SENSIBLE LOVER (4) is not out of it. Stayed on well last time. ROYAL ARMOUR (3) looks to be back to his best again. NIGHT TRIP (1) was not disgraced in the Mercury Sprint last time. Should make a bold bid this C & D where he remains unbeaten (2 from 2). TRIPANDIE (7) has won three on the bounce. Improving and rises in class and trip.

RACE 12:

LIVE ON THE MOON (11) has very good form and his last win was this C & D. Big runner. TRIP TO RIO (5) has not won in almost two years but is never too far off them. JONOVICH (8) is a Highveld raider and is improving. PURE VALOR (12) disappointed last time but has a money chance on previous. JUDDERING ANGLE (4) improved in his two KZN runs. Can earn.
