Vaal October 1st

 Race 1

#2 Duke Of Edinburgh: Has been a runner up in his last two starts, he is finding some consistency and is the horse to beat if he can round off the race. Talented apprentice Lyle Hewitson takes the ride.

#7 Just As Frisky, #8 Charleston Hero, #1 Together Forever

Race 2

#9 Elusive Strike: Dead heated for second on debut, she was green on that ocassion, as is the case with many horses having their first run. She would of come on leaps and bounds, and it is encouraging to see that top jockey, Gavin Lerena has opted to retain the ride.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #22 Teenage Dream, #5 Three Kingdom's, #2 Bank The Bill

Race 3

#10 Doosra: Was a runner up on debut, he would of come on from that experience, and will be much more aware of his surroundings. This well bred individual is related to a host of winners, The "Master Of Disaster" Gavin Lerena takes the ride.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #4 Aristocrat, #14 Moshav, #9 Collabro

Race 4

#2 Doing It For Dan: Showed every inch of his class last time out, when scoring an impressive victory over some useful sorts. He bids for his tenth career victory, with former champion jockey Andrew Fortune in the irons. It is most encouraging that he has decided to retain the ride aboard this smart gelding.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #1 Trip Tease, #3 African Ruler, #7 Isca

Race 5

#3 Seattle Singer: Made it clear that she had ability from day one, she not only showcased her class last season as juvenile against both sexes, but at the highest level as well . She is very unlucky to only be a one time winner, but she could add another victory to her tally, by scoring in this non black type affair.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #7 Paree, #8 Aldiara, #11 Lakahal

Race 6

#14 Vulcan: Has produced a trio of excellent performances in his last three starts, he was an unlucky runner up in each race. This ever green gelding is knocking at the door and would be a deserving winner. He gets along very well with quality young rider, Ryan Munger.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #16 Aldric, #7 Duke Nukem, #4 The Stone Thrower

Race 7

#10 King's Archer: Won a good race in his latest performance, he will step into the starting gates of this contest, a horse full of confidence. He is a hard knocking handicapper, who always gives of his best, and if anyone can get the best out of him on the big day, it is tough jockey Marco Van Rensburg.

2nd, 3rd, 4th:  #9 Lunar Approach, #17 Humidor, #2 Bulleting Home

Race 8

#15 `Move Like Jagger: Had to settle for second in his latest performance, he enjoys this course and distance, and will be a lively contender if he holds his form under jockey Muzi Yeni, who has ridden over a 1000 winners.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #12 Like A Boss, #20 Trip To Paradise, #7 Silver Class

Race 9

#16 Green Pepper: Was narrowly beaten in the Bloodstock Million Mile in Natal, and is the horse to beat if he reproduces that effort on the highveld. He carries a very low mass, and will be very competitive despite jumping from a bad draw.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #2 Rivarine, #14 Bonnie Dawn, #5 Nitro Charge

Race 10

#26 Var Agtig: Was a runner up on debut, she showed plenty of speed on that ocassion and she may have only been beaten by a lack of experience. She has a decent draw, which could very well make all the difference.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #6 Levi Lady, #7 Lady Of The World, #20 Miss Bulsara

Best Bets: Elusive Strike, Doosra, Seattle Singer, Move Like Jagger

Value Bets: Vulcan, King's Archer
