Top sports presenter for Tellytrack

Popular and well-known SuperSport presenter Neil Andrews has been appointed Presenter Co-Ordinator on horseracing television channel Tellytrack (channel 239 on the DStv bouquet).

As such, Andrews will not only head up the Tellytrack team of presenters, but also give valuable input on the editorial content and mix of the channel.

His other tasks will include ensuring a high standard of presenting and sourcing and training new presenters in order to ensure that the Tellytrack team of presenters is fully representative of South African demographics.

Andrews, a long-time passionate horseracing fan, has a wealth of experience as a sports presenter. While obtaining a BA at the University of Cape Town, he began working as an announcer for the Western Cape TAB and later became an on-course announcer and then commentator.

He joined M-Net in 1991 and was the first to-camera presenter on IGN, the then horseracing channel. He went on to become a sports presenter on SuperSport, his achievements there including an Overall Sports Presenter of the Year award in 2006.

“Neil has extensive presenting and managerial skills, plus he’s a keen horseracing and soccer fan, the two sports that produce the bulk of Gold Circle, Kenilworth Racing and Phumelela’s revenue. He is a valuable addition to our ranks at Tellytrack,” said Tellytrack CEO Rob Scott.

Former Joburg trainer Dominque Zaki is now the Studio Co-Ordinator at Tellytrack with his chief role being to direct the on-screen content during South African race meetings.

As such he is responsible for maintaining a high standard of on-screen content and ensuring that such content is relevant and viewer friendly with the right pictures and data being screened at the right time.

“Dominque has slotted in well in his new role which is reflected in the improved editorial quality of our live coverage of South African races and other races in the same timeframe,” said Scott
