The always positive jockey Muzi Yeni rode winner number 1200 aboard the Alec Laird trained Green Top, a 2 year old bay filly by Gimmethegreenlight (AUS) out of Caughtintheslips by Caesour (USA) bred at the Varsfontein Stud and owned by Messrs C Gordon and P E White.

She sat 5 - 6 lengths off the pace which was made by the eventual runner up Spring Breeze and the fourth placed Phillydelphia coming into the straight, but they eventually came back to her as she ran on strongly to win a good race. Green Top was purchased for R225000 and she should have a good chance of surpassing that in stakes as she not only looks classy, but comes from a top female line to boot, she is related to the likes of Captain's Knock (10 wins) Master Blaster (6 wins) and Doosra ( 3 wins) which are her half brothers.

Whether it's on the sand at Flamingo Park, the poly at Greyville or the good old fashioned turf at any other track in the country, Yeni always tries his very best in the saddle.
