Fairview Polytrack June 16th Preview

 Race 1

1 – 7 – 8 – 4
Maiden Plate - 1200m
Dorrie Sham sends out, Battle Creek (Antonius Pius) may be in just the right field to break his maiden, he is always there abouts and should once again be competitive. Odaiba (Sail From Seattle) ran a much improved race when trying the polytrack last time out and the Gavin Smith trainee should give them plenty of cheek with a useful 4 kilogram claimer up. Stephanie Miller has brought down a number of horses from her Kimberly based yard, Oratio (Oratorio) is one of her main stays on this public holiday and he could be a factor if reproducing his sand form on this surface. Cadillac Jack (Bezrin) was slightly disappointing when last seen in action, but he cannot be ignored on his previous form which was decent.
Race 2
1 – 7 – 4 – 5
Maiden Plate - 1000m
Astralita (Antonius Pius) must have a line put through her last run, she may have found the 1200 to far and should relish the drop in trip, the Snaith inmate is a live runner on her grass form. Allan Greeff conditions, Pina (Curved Ball) she might find five furlongs to sharp, but her polytrack debut was very encouraging and the filly looks very competitive on that basis. Irish (Irish Flame) the Dorrie Sham trainee finished 7th out of 14 on debut and would have come on a ton from the experience, she has place claims here. Justin Snaith also trains, Island Speak (Oratorio) who makes her racecourse debut in this event, she is related to a host of winners and could run into the money if not to green.
Race 3
3 – 7 – 6 – 8
Maiden Plate - 1000m
The Jacques Strydom trained, Battersea Bridge (Sail From Seattle) has run a number of places in his career thus far and looks ready to shed his maiden tag. The grey filly, Nacre (Rock Of Rochelle) represents the Yvette Bremner stable, she is consistent and has been knocking at the door for quite a while, her chances of landing the score are very good. Another competitive female runner in this event is, In Tandem (Trippi) from the Gavin Smith yard, she wasn’t completely disgraced on local debut and would have come on a ton from that experience, she could get a look in if making the nessecary improvement. Bubbly Night (Warm White Night) has had valid excuses as of late, his best form has come over 1000m on the polytrack and he might be able to earn a cheque if putting his best hoof forward.
Race 4
2 – 10 – 8 – 5
Maiden Plate - 1200m
Lady Bok (National Emblem) gets the nod in what appears to be a tricky affair to say the very least. The Grant Paddock trainee ran a much improved race when last seen in action and has solid eachway claims in this event. Allan Greeff steps out, Albertina (Bold Silvano) the juvenile got the attention of many enthusiasts when making her polytrack debut and could possibly give the older generation a run for their money here. Bandana (Silvano) represents the Dorrie Sham stable, she cannot be taken lightly despite making her local debut in this contest, her Joburg form was rather decent and she might be able to make her presence felt if reproducing it in this weaker centre. Yevette Bremner sends out, Mischievous (Mambo In Seattle) she may prefer an extra 100m, but is never to far off the action and could get involved in the shakeup on best ability.
Race 5
7 – 1 – 6 – 8
MR 66 Handicap - 1200m
The Allan Greeff trained, Big Chief (Black Minnaloushe) has had a number of excuses since breaking his maiden. He is much better than his form might suggest and he can stake a claim to the outcome of this heat. Blizzard King (Sail From Seattle) may not have enjoyed the track and trip last time out, the Yevette Bremner inmate will have a huge say if he is able to reproduce his penultimate performance here. Jacques Strydom steps out, Varistar (Var) the gelding has been honest as of late and should once again be there abouts. Red Special (Kahal) has been a revelation on the sand at Flamingo Park and the Stephanie Miller trainee cannot be written off on his polytrack debut.
Race 6
8 – 1 – 11 – 2
Pinnacle Stakes - 1200m
The form from Dorset Noble’s victory in the East Cape Derby has worked out exceptionally well, En Gee Oh who took third place in that event has since come out to win and there is no reason why, Story Of My Life (Soar With Eagles) who finished second cannot continue the trend. The Gavin Smith inmate has won over the course and distance, and looks very hard to oppose all things considered. Captain Alfredo (Captain Al) won on Derby day, he took top honours in a quality field and rates the biggest threat to the top selection. North Cape trainer, Stephanie Miller has another competitive runner on the card in the shape of, Pigeon Flyer (Mambo In Seattle) he hardly ever disgraces himself and shouldn’t be to far off the action if enjoying the polytrack. Normanz (Var) is a high class performer, in fact he is a former Grade 1 winner, but he may be better suited to racing on the grass, however he cannot be left out of any quartets.
Race 7
9 – 7 – 13 – 2
MR 68 Handicap - 1200m
Tara Laing trains, The Wild Mistress (Rebel King) her last run was honest and it may have come at just the right time, she meets a rather weak bunch and has a good draw to boot. The latter’s stable mate is, Southern Sunset  (Greys Inn) she had valid excuses last time out and should do much better over this track and trip, she is capable of giving them plenty of cheek and must be respected. Allan Greeff conditions, On That Note (Tiger Ridge) she is an improving sort and should she overcome her wide draw she could threaten her opposition in this event. Coastal Spell (Toreador) may prefer an extra 100m, but a quartet berth is not out of the question for the Greeff trainee.
Race 8
MR 60 Handicap – 1300m
15 – 3 – 9 – 5
Rippit Whippet (Jay Peg) was last seen running third in Joburg, she is course and distance suited and should give her rivals a good go in this event, the Corne Spies trainee has all the tools to grab the money under a confident Jarryd Penny. Jacques Strydom steps out the hard trying, Red Hot Lady (Warm White Night) she had valid excuses when last seen in action, she was found to be not striding out on that occasion and could have a say in the outcome of the finish on her best ability. Wicked Lady Jane (Brave Tin Soldier) represents the Gavin Smith yard, the filly has placed over this track and trip before and could get a look in if everything goes her way. Pippin (Mambo In Seattle) from the Allan Greeff stable was a winner on her penultimate performance and she might be competitive if able to reproduce that run here, include her in all quartet structures.
