 Race 1

12.55 PM
Workriders Maiden Plate - 1700m
1 – 4 – 5 – 13
Tapenzee (Tapit) has found some form and looks the one they all have to beat, the grey gelding will have the services of top workrider, Francis Semela. Ali Pasha (Global One) produced the best run of his career last time out, but he must maintain consistency in order to be competitive here. Richard Lionheart (Dynasty) may have found 2600m to far when he last raced, he was desperately unlucky when casting a shoe in the start before that, if things go his way he could be in the mix. Mellon (Philanthropist) was soundly beaten on debut in a sprint, but that is hardly surprising as his sire tends to through a horse which gets better with time and distance, he can get closer to the action having had the benefit of a run.

Race 2
13.30 PM
Maiden Plate (Fillies & Mares) - 1000m
3 – 13 – 1 – 4
Flying Falcon (Noordhoek Flyer) is never to far off them, she will have Piere “Striker” Strydom on her back, this master tactician should make all the difference. Quick Glimpse (Fastnet Rock) makes her debut for the Mike De Kock stable, she is out of the Apres Demain mare, Apercu. Of The Moon (Trippi) ran a much improved race last time out, she could be a factor if reproducing that effort here. Our Biscuit (Warm White Night) rounded off quartets in her most recent race, she looks capable of earning another cheque for the connections.

Race 3
14.05 PM
MR 62 Handicap (Fillies & Mares) - 1000m
2 – 1 – 5 – 7
Varsity Princess (Var) clearly benefitted from her post maiden effort, she ran second in her third start and has plenty more to come. Burgundy Rose (King’s Chapel) bounced back to form last time out, she is a hard trying sort and should be competitive here. Pipkin (Lateral) ran a decent fifth when last seen in action and she could feature on her absolute best ability. Anime Sweet (Great Britain) has been off the track for a lengthy period of 142 days, but she did win her last outing and might be involved in the shakeup if not needing the run.

Race 4
14.40 PM
MR 66 Handicap – 1000m.
10 – 6 – 3 – 2
Cold Front (What A Winter) has earned in every start since breaking his maiden, he was a runner up when last seen on the racecourse and could score here. Minnesota (Miesque’s Approval) has solid recent form and should be involved in the finish on that basis. Western Warrior (Querari) won his only race over 1200m, he has eachway claims racing back over the minimum trip which seems to suit him better these days. Cannes (Atso) ran a much improved race last time out, he has a chance of making the frame, given his generally consistent nature.

Race 5
15.15 PM
MR 80 Handicap - 1700m
9 – 3 – 10 – 2
Duzi Moon (Brave Tin Soldier) was put away for a short spell of 74 days after winning his most recent race, he would have strengthened up nicely during the break and can follow up with Ryan “The Lion” Munger abroad. Dan The Lad (Dan De Lago) is one of a handful that have represented his sire out of the maidens, he is hard knocking and should be very competitive with that in mind. Jackman (Global One) has earned in his last three starts and he could make his presence felt if continuing to run well. Silver Peg (Jay Peg) tends to be about the action more often than not and he cannot be left out of any trifectas and quartets.

Race 6
15.55 PM
MR 66 Handicap - 1400m
8 – 5 – 2 – 10
Quattro (Judpot) backed up a cracking second to hatrick winner, Last Girl Standing with a win of his own last time out, it would be no surprise to see him repeat here. Streetwear (Visionaire) could get the better of him as they have similar form, there is not much separating them and a swinger may be a good bet. I’m A Raptor (Soar With Eagles) showed some solid improvement when trying the mile for the first time, the step down to 1400 should not be a problem and he appears to have eachway claims here. William Grace (Dynasty) would probably prefer an extra furlong, however he could earn a cheque for the connections.

Race 7
16.40 PM
MR 66 Handicap – 1400m
2 – 3 – 7 – 10
Captain Chips (Captain Al) always gives it his all, he has been in the money on ten consecutive occasions and would be a deserving winner. Rambo (Victory Moon) scored his ninth career victory last time out and this evergreen campaigner looks quite competitive here. Chili Lime (Curved Ball) ran a much improved race when last seen in action and he harbours eachway claims in this event. Jim Cables (Toreador) has earned in his last two starts and could be involved in the shakeup.

Race 8
17.05 PM
MR 62 Handicap (Fillies & Mares) - 1400m
3 – 11 –13 – 6
Main Roll (Main Aim) will be much better off over 1400m, she could grab the money in the lucky last if she reproduces her penultimate effort. The Great Dutchess (Great Britain) has done reasonable well against winners and looks a great place bet with Munger up. Juba (Lateral) ran a much improved race last time out and should be watched in this event. All Done (Damage Is Done) has her first run out of the maidens and she could earn a cheque for the connections.

Bet Opinion is take the double with Tapenzee and Varsity Princess.

Best Bet: Captain Chips

Value Bet: Main Roll
