KILDANGAN ANNOUNCE RIBCHESTER TO RETIRE TO STUD IN 2018

Darley have announced four-time Group 1-winning superstar RIBCHESTER (IRE) will retire to stud at Kildangan Stud in Co. Kildare for the 2018 breeding season. It has been reported a limited number of breeding rights will be offered for a fee of €30,000.

The four-year-old colt won the Group 1 Prix Jacques le Marois, Group 1 Lockinge Stakes, Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes and Group 1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp. He was placed in another six Group 1 races for Godolphin and he only finished off the board once in 15 starts.

RIBCHESTER (IRE) was sold at Goffs November Foal Sale 2013 for €78,000 and was resold at Goffs Orby Sale 2014 for €105,000. Goffs November Foal Sale renews Monday 20th November 2017.

Kildangan have also added PROFITABLE (IRE) by Invincible Spirit (IRE) to their 2018 stallion roster and he will stand for a fee of €12,000.

PROFITABLE (IRE) won the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Ascot as a four-year-old. He won the Group 2 Temple Stakes and the Group 3 Palace House Stakes the same year. Most recently, he was placed in the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines.
