Race 1

As always watch the weather for the soft going which play a massive part in selections. Elusive Trader is the pick here after a very nice second effort having come on nicely. Lanza, if acting in the going, could place after another good run last time out. The same goes for Strabo who has two seconds of late but hasn't run well in yielding, although that was his first start. Watch.

Race 2
Sparkeling Fire is the strong first selection after a smart second run in the soft. One to be with here. Tropical Hibiscus was smart on debut at long odds and disappointed last time out. Expect more. Kawakami has been disappointing to date. Not sure if acts in the soft after a pacy last time and faded. Same trip again. Possible tactics change.

Race 3
Mile maiden for fillies would have Sommersonne as the top choice. Great last effort in the soft when running on nicely. Bell Jar was close penultimate and decent last time out. Could be close up again. Royal Kiss is brought back in distance which should suit. Place chance. Watch for the expensive first timer.

Race 4
Cavalleria is well weighted here with the Burke 4kg claim. Won well last time out but up in class now. If she breaks well, she would be hard to beat. Ontenderhooks is the class of the event and looks to be improving with every effort, unfortunately she may be caught out by some very well weighted rivals at the bottom of the handicap. Skip A Beat ran a nice type of race last time and could follow that up with another decent effort here.

Race 5
Made In Hollywood could be the right one here after a nice effort behind a smart sort in Fresnaye last time out over further. Her only effort at this distance resulted in another nice performance behind a top horse in Dutch Philip. It is What It Is improved last time out in a lower division but carries no weight here and the apprentice claim. Nordic Breeze is also a nice sort with some decent runs in this type of company but always had something to find. Place chance.

Race 6
Extradite is only a two time winner but has been campaigning in better recently. Didn't quite crack the third win even when dropped in class but may do so here. Classy type with loads to offer. Has the apprentice claim. Miss Smarty Pants beat the first selection last time out but there could be a form switch as there isn't much between them at these weights. Velvet Gown is up in class but has ability. Place chance in recent efforts.

Race 7
Spectra Force has dropped further in the ratings and looks ripe for the win. Disappointed when favourite last time but is another kg down here. Big chance. Jailhouse Rock looks progressive but after winning back to back is up in the ratings. Unbelievable Chad on his day can produce a decent effort and seems to act on the soft ground.

Race 8
New Caledonia represents some very decent form of late and was just beaten last time out. Has the ability to win this one. Tsitsikamma Dance represents the best of Hemmingway formline and is weighted to beat the self same horse. Hemmingway is selected as the third choice. Also in decent form but having to give weight away.
