1st WINNER FOR APPRENTICE NATHAN KLINK


Nathan Klink, a 2nd year apprentice at the South African Jockey Academy, rode his 1st winner as an apprentice jockey in Race 5 at the Flamingo Park Racecourse on Monday 16 July, aboard No. 9 "NICO’S CHICK" trained by Bill Human. Nathan then followed up his 1st winner, with a good second place in Race 7, aboard “WHAT A POET”, trained by Coerie Lensley.
Nathan has cut his race riding teeth in Gauteng and is naturally very excited about his first winner! He and fellow second year apprentice Kabelo Matsunyane moved up to Gauteng early in 2018 and started their race riding careers under the guidance of National Jockey Coach, Robert Moore. This move has been well received and supported by the trainers in this region and there are sure to be many more winners from these young, competitive and energetic apprentices.
