I'GEM has been knocking on the door and running on in her most recent starts. DRIFTING DUEL has also improved in her most recent starts and has been running on. The first timer COOL CHICK could be worth following. UPTOWN CHIC is not consistent but has placed this C & D. POETRY PARTY may improve on a green, moderate debut.

OKEECHOBEE has had to close up seconds. Should be a very short-priced favourite. Watch the betting on the Mike De Kock first timer ZANZAMAR. FLEMINGTON PARK ran an improved race last time while FELINE PRINCE made a moderate debut. TORCH SINGER was green on debut last time. Can place.

Not a strong field. RUGEN is not a confident choice. His penultimate run was his best. It was over the distance. ROYAL ARROW was supported in the betting last time but did not show. ILIAD was running on when making his debut last time. Watch the betting on the first timer SHAUNIE BOY. THULANI made small improvement last time.

RACE 4:Maiden Plate 1600m Bend

A competitive maiden plate with three horses likely to vie for top honours. BETA was running on when making his Gauteng debut this C & D. Can go all the way. LORD OF THE DANCE was running on over further last time when finishing a good second to Moon Dragon. CORNER HOUSE has excellent maiden form with one fourth, two thirds and three seconds from his six starts. Piere Strydom rides. COLDKENTUCKYRAIN has place claims on his latest improved effort. JAURUM can improved on a very ordinary debut.

RACE 5:Grade 3 Acacia Handicap (F & M) (R165 000) 1600m Bend

Two Mike De Kock runners could fight this one out. LAVERNA is top class and her moderate recent form could be misleading. There should be improvement to come. Anthony Delpech has opted to ride her and not stable companion MILK AND HONEY. Anton Marcus is set to ride her. She is also top class and has raced against stronger. She disappointed last time but has the class to go all the way today. KZN raider PRESTIC will be doing her best work late and loves the distance. May need the run. She has not run since July. AUTUMN GOLD has more to do for the win but can earn a small place cheque. LISA ANNE is consistent but has more to do this class.

RACE 6:Wolf Power Handicap (Listed) (R135 000) 1600m Bend

HAVASHA is a progressive sort and is unbeaten this track. He has also placed this C & D. Stable companion RUDRA is one of the best in the land but he has not run since winning the Summer Cup in November 2008. He was injured after that race He could need the run but his class may see him still go close. Would have been a leading contender for last year's July had he been fit. ZORBA'S TALE is consistent but could need to find more to win this class of race. CHOISIR is also a consistent sort. Piere Strydom rides for Geoff Woodruff but may have stamina doubts this distance. FENERBAHCE has not won in a year but has faced some tough opposition.

RACE 7:Grade 3 Three Troikas Stakes (R165 000) 1450m Bend

QUEEN MIRA is unbeaten after three starts. This is her toughest assignment yet. Once again Piere Strydom rides for Geoff Woodruff. FISANI has raced against some useful fields in feature races. Looks likely to improve. Stable companion FLIRTATION is unbeaten after two starts but has more to do. ADORABLE (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) also faces tougher and also looks likely to improve. VALLEY OF RUBIES will be running on and can earn.

RACE 8:Grade 3 Tony Ruffel Stakes (R200 000) 1450m Bend

GALILEO'S GALAXY, Anton Marcus rides for Charles Laird, finished just over a length behind CURVED BALL in the Dingaans. She has a 4kg advantage and should turn the tables. PIERRE JOURDAN has excellent form and is well suited to the C & D. He will be doing his best work late and has faced some useful fields in his four starts. The other Charles Laird runner CURVED BALL won both the Dingaans and Sea Cottage very impressively. He will be running on. Anthony Delpech rides for Charles Laird. The well-bred BULSARA is likely to pick up a decent feature sooner or later. Include. ECHOHAWK can fill a minor placing.

ADVANCE CALL is battling to pick up that second win but he tends to run on over these types of distances and he can win at generous odds. ICE PIRATE is holding form well and will be doing his best work late. INQUEST has faced stronger but has had his problems. Don't ignore. DUKE'S WOMAN has it all to do at the weights despite having raced against stronger. VICTORY BELT stays on well.
