RACE 1:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1200m Bend

BELMONTE must have a chance on an ice debut last time when running on late. ROYAL CHARGER also ran on in his debut last time. Time to go close. Watch stable mates and first timers BRIAN'S WAGER and TROJAN RIVER. The son of Captain Al, TROMPSBURG could also be worth following.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1600m Bend

JACARANDA MOON has some fair form and has placed over the distance. PASCHA showed nice improvement last time in a workriders. Piere Strydom takes the ride. POETRY PARTY has improved with each run. Anton Marcus rides. PACIFIC DESTINY made a fair debut and should improve on that run. BE SPEEDY has moderate form but may place despite fading late.

RACE 3:MR 68 Hcp (F & M) 1800m Bend

CELESTIAL BLUE may shape up better being back over this C & D where she runs on well. FULL MOON RISING has fair form and showed improvement last time after a saddle slip in the race before that. PINK SOMBRERO ran a good post maiden last time and may improve. STARSTRUCK may prefer shorter but this is not a strong field. UBUHLE has won only once. That was this C & D. Her form since then has been moderate but she can sneak a place.

RACE 4:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1800m Bend

This should be a two-horse race. CYCLONE BARBARA may have found her last start too far but enjoys this distance and should be finding more at the finish. STARWOOD improved last time over shorter. Expect the slightly extra distance to suit more. PANAMERA has best form of the balance while BLAZING JUNE and FOXY BLONDE need to improve some to win.

RACE 5:MR 80 Hcp 1800m Bend

AIRWOLF has struck very good form since the blinkers were removed (two wins and a second). Will be running on. SIR LOWRY (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) also has the form to win but has not won in a while. Don't discount AWESOME LIGHT who should have a shout. SUPERFEDERATION faced a better field last time and was not disgraced. Chance on that. STAR OF DESTINY was running on last time and has a chance on that improved run.

RACE 6:Drum Star Handicap (MR) (Listed) (R135 000) 1800m Bend

BOUQUET-GARNI has won three from five starts over the 1800m trip. He was not disgraced last time when finishing four lengths behind the more than useful Rudra in a listed handicap last time. May be ready today. IRON CURTAIN has excellent form this C & D and will be doing his best work late. REGAL RANSOM also has good form. Piere Strydom rides for Sean Tarry. Stable companion GOLDEN CHARIOT has won his last three starts, one of which was this C & D. Can make it four! CALL TO COMBAT has the form but will find this company tougher.

RACE 7:Pinnacle Stakes (R110 000) 1450m Bend

Charles Laird sends out three horses in this race. Two of them should fight this one out. IMPERIAL GESTURE (Anton Marcus) won well last time and is unbeaten this C & D (3 from 3). He will be finding more at the finish. Stable companion ORACY (Guillermo Figueroa) is top class but disappointed in the J & B last time. Should mount a serious challenge today. THEREALSLIMSHADY runs best at this track, but needs to find more to win. The third Charles Laird runner EIGHT STREET has just lost form in most recent runs. Can place. ERAGON could find a minor placing at best.

RACE 8:MR 84 Hcp (F & M) 1450m Bend

RIVER MOY (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) ran a very good post maiden run last time. Chance over the extra distance. EDUKAT will be running on and her form looks to be certain to reap rewards sooner rather than later. Piere Strydom rides. MEMPHIS is very consistent and should be involved at the finish. Was slow last start but does run on well. CASHEW NUT has faced stronger but needs a form return. IDITAROD has shown consistency and generally picks up a cheque.

RACE 9:MR 68 Hcp (F & M) 1450m Bend

On form MASEKELA should be the one to beat. She stays on well. TRINKET could cause an upset on some fair runs this C & D. Off form at present but has claims on best form to date. LARKING AROUND has faced stronger and could be a danger. TIME TO LAUGH is never too far back. SIGNET RING has threatened in the last few starts but is not consistent.
