RACE 1:Workriders Qualified Maiden Plate (F & M) 1200m Straight

STAR CALLER is not that consistent and also runs for the thirty-eighth time as a maiden. Top work rider Jackson Feni rides. Not a confident choice. LUSCIOUS LUCY has had some fair runs and could challenge for that top spot. WESTERN SPLASH looks likely to run into a place at best. SUNTOUCHER has in and out Flamingo Park form and will need to put his act together to earn anything in this race. IONA appears to be finding form, but ever so slowly!

RACE 2:Qualified Maiden Handicap 1000m Straight

LINCOLN'S INN has lost form but showed last time that he could be returning to some of that earlier better form. One to be wary of in this field. SIZZLING GUY has shown good improvement in his last two and has a decent shout in this field. MOGOK'S MAIDEN showed moderate improvement last time. The blinkers go on today. Watch! GLASS PALACE has some fair form and should earn today. WONDROUS STAR has a claim on his penultimate run.

RACE 3:Maiden Qualified Hcp (F & M) 1400m Straight

Not much decent form on which to base one's selection for this race. MAL'S CHOICE has some consistency to recommend her. She did run on last time. NONTANDA is a very weak challenger. She has placed over the distance but does not have much form. RISE AND FALL (Sean Tarry/Piere Strydom) fades when it matters most. Respect Jockey/trainer combination. BEHURRYUP has been very much below par in recent times. Needs to find best form. AMARILLO showed up well over further and on sand at her penultimate start.

RACE 4:Maiden Qualified Plate 1600m Straight

CALL TO ARMS has yet to show over 1600m but may be able to win in this field. RAISE-A-POET is never far back but will need to find quite some more to feature. BIG DREAM (Charles Laird) is showing slow improvement. RUGEN may improve with the blinkers taken off. The blinkers go on NATIONAL CHALLENGE. He did not show in Kimberley last time.

RACE 5:MR 61 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Straight

LAPLAND PALACE has been running well in her last few starts and is suited to this C & D. Go close in this field. GREET THE DAY has won this C & D and has run on in the past. Must rate a chance in this field. ROYAL HIGHNESS has only won at this track. Raids from KZN with the Mark Dixon yard. Must have a chance back at this track. The reserve runner POLO must have a chance of winning if she were to run. Include her in the Pick Six. DIAMANTE my be ready to improve.

VICTORY BELT is never too far back and he loves this C & D. Piere Strydom takes the ride. RAMBLING BOY will be running on and has some good form to boot. Has won this C & D and should go close in this weak field. REV COUNTER (Sean Tarry) ran on to win very easily last time. Can repeat. CAPPIE was just pipped on the line last time. Claims on that run. OUTPLAY was running on last time. Further improvement a possibility. STORTFORD showed improvement before he stumbled at the start last time. Can make amends today.

BALANCE OF PAYMENT has placed second on three occasions from four starts this C & D. Chance on latest run. SUPER RED is never too far back and will also be finding a good finish late. ADVANCE CALL may also be in the firing line running on. Has only won or placed this track. SHINE THE GOLD and WILD RUSSIAN will need to improve to win but they could fill some minor placings at best.

ROYAL TERRACE has steady place-finding form but has a tendency to fade late. SPANISH ARMADA beat stronger last time in Kimberley. Chance here as well. COLLECT CALL has some steady form and has also placed this C & D. AUTUMN WIZARD ran on to win last time over 1000m. Not consistent but respect on latest run. ICY COMPLIMENT would be a surprise winner on current form but earlier form was decidedly better.
