RACE 1:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

BLACK SANDS could be difficult to beat on current form. He runs well this C & D and should be running on late. PERE JOSEPH is battling for that maiden win but seldom runs too far back. Has already run seventeen times! PRINCETON GOLD is improving with every run and must be respected. DANCING GOLD has had two decent runs to date and is likely to show soon. INNER POISE may improve on two moderate runs.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1600m Bend

READYTOMAKENICE refused to jump last time. Normally runs well. Give another chance. The horse I really like is the reserve runner UPSTAGE. If he gets to run I may consider making him my number one choice for the race. He is clearly improving and runs on well. JERVIS did show improvement when making his PE debut last time. COASTAL CLUB may be ready to show the necessary progression that could see him earn a decent cheque. SECOND FOUNDATION is consistent  and has placed this C & D.

RACE 3:Graduation Plate 1400m Bend

YOUTH CLUB will be running on and he has good form. Runs best at this track and appears to be the one to beat. AFRICAN SWIFT has some fair form and could be the one to challenge. PSYCHO SAM is hugely inconsistent but on his day could go very close. LOVER has been facing far stronger and is not without a chance here today. MIDNIGHT MAYHEM would cause mayhem were he to win. He is battling for his second win. Even though he is never too far back, his form is not that bad.

RACE 4:MR 82 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

QUEEN TAMARA is clearly above average and she has excellent form with three wins and a third from only four runs. Her third was over this distance whereas her three wins have been over 1000m. She looks classy and being a daughter of Dynasty, should prefer the extra. PINK WEST did not show in a feature last time but won three in a row before that. Can go close. CHAIN REACTION goes for the hat trick. Can either set a good pace or run on. MISS VAR has had some fair runs against slightly stronger. SOUTHERN PINE may need further at this stage.

RACE 5:Eastern Cape Paddock Stakes (Listed) (F & M) (R120 000) 1600m Bend

SARAH EM won the East Cape Breeders well last time. That was over 1200m. She has won over this C & D and should go close once again. ROYAL WAGER will have a good chance if running on again. The old trainer/jockey team of Alan Greeff/Greg Cheyne team up again. ACADEMY COLOURS is in good form, well suited to the C & D and sets a good pace. Will need to hold on. LIZZY'S HERITAGE may find this tough but will be running on. THUNDEROUS BELINDA will need to find more to win but can place.

RACE 6:Wedgewood Handicap (MR) (F & M) (R90 000) 2400m Bend

HARBOUR LIGHT has excellent form this C & D. Sets a good and fast pace and can hold on. REVEALING BELLE must be watched on that "out of the blue" and vastly improved run last time. Watch for the upset. FRENCH KISS will be finding more late. KATARA was not well last time and as a result was disappointing. Chance if well today. KIWI STAR is never too far back and is not out of it this league.

RACE 7:MR 87 Hcp 1200m Straight

Watch SENJOR JOSH who wears the blinkers today. He has been lacking a finish, but has run well on a number of occasions this C & D. FIRST GROWTH is unbeaten this C & D (2 from 2). Both runs were in his last two starts. He was running on then and on those runs should be fighting this one out. KABAMBA will be doing his best work late but may be better suited to a slightly shorter trip. SCULPTOR was suspended after his last effort when he suffered from a nosebleed. His form before that was good and he is not out of it. BULLDOZER may be best of the balance.

RACE 8:MR 73 Hcp 1200m Straight

FOXTROT TANGO has good form and will be doing his best work late. TARA'S KINGDOM may be coming back into some form. THE FORD may force his way into the top three but he is not that consistent.  Others worth considering for the places, at least, are WINDY WHISTLE and HIGH JESTER. The Pick Six will if PRO POWER were to win.
