Big Mal Highlights Inglis Caulfield Haul

Led by G1 CF Orr Stakes winner Maldivian and Blue Diamond favourite Rostova, Inglis graduates dominated proceedings at today`s re-scheduled Caulfield meeting.

Of the nine races, six winners were sold at public auction - and each of those are graduates of Inglis sales.

MALDIVIAN ($195,000 2004 Easter, 6g Zabeel-Shynzi) gave Inglis graduates a 13th Australian Group 1 win for the season when turning in a career best first up effort to claim the C.F. Orr Stakes.

The Mark Kavanagh trained son of Zabeel was having his first start since taking last year`s G1 Cox Plate. He had never missed a place in five previous first up runs, but today was the first time he has won when resuming.

Sold by Cambridge Stud, Maldivian is now the winner of nine races in 27 starts for earnings of $2.78million.

Earlier, star filly ROSTOVA ($80,000 2008 Premier, 2f Testa Rossa-Space Talk) cemented her place at the head of Blue Diamond markets when turning in an arrogant display to take the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (2yo F). Most agencies now have the Steve Richards trained filly a fractional odds favourite for the $1M Blue Diamond, with her record now being three stakes wins from as many starts.

Impeccably bred entire RED ELEMENT (P$280,000 2006 Easter, 4h Red Ransom-Tracy`s Element) added another valuable stakes success to his record when scoring first up in the Listed BMW Stakes (1100m).

A full-brother to exciting filly Typhoon Tracy, Red Element is now a dual stakes winner and has won five of his nine starts.

Inglis graduates opened up the day on a winning note with ARMS WIDE OPEN ($725,000 2007 Easter, 3f Encosta De Lago-Embraceable You) maintaining her unbeaten first up record in the Sandown Park (UK) Handicap.

The Bart Cummings trained GOD`S HAND ($260,000 2005 Easter, 5g Galileo-Blessed Be) was rewarded for persistency in taking the Selangor Turf Club Handicap, before EL MANDON ($35,000 Inglis Autumn, 4g El Moxie-Chicks In Charge) rounded out a great day for Inglis graduates when winning the Glasshouse Cafe Handicap.
