RACE 1:Juvenile Plate 1000m Straight

This should be a race between the two Gavin Smith runners, SEDGE and JETSCREEN. The former was not disgraced when finishing four lengths back in fourth place in a feature last time while the latter showed very good improvement last time when winning her maiden at the second attempt. Three first timers to consider could be BETHPAGE, TUSCON TREE and COMMUNICATE. The betting could be the best indication you may get.

RACE 2:Juvenile Plate (F) 1000m Straight

TALIWAG made a decent debut last time and with the scratching of TAJ MAHAL TRIP, this could be her opportunity to win this race. Ran on last time. HUSHED ANGEL has had three promising runs but has faded over 1100m in her last two. Could be better back over 1000m. RIVER TYNE improved by over twelve lengths last time when running on over 1400m. GUIDED ARROW did not show in a feature last time when her saddle slipped. Give another chance. OH SO EASY could run in to the money on evidence of her last two runs.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1000m Straight

SHADOW PINK runs for the twenty third occasion. She runs her best races over this C & D. Could be running on. CRASHFEEVER shows good pace but tends to fade late. JOSE GOLD also has a money chance. Is still improving. GALA GIRL tends to fade, but shows early pace. BETWEEN THE COVERS was supported in the betting on debut last time but did not show. Give another chance in this field.

RACE 4:Maiden Plate 2400m Bend

MUCHO GOLD had good form before his latest effort over shorter. Loves this C & D and does run over this C & D. LEGEND OF ZELDA seems to be back to "best last time". That "best" still does not look that good, but in this field it could be worth something. DETZKY'S TAO has to be respected on a twenty five length improvement last time. Was running on that day. SIR ISAAC appears to be improving once again. Chance in this field. MURPHY'S MAGIC is yet another moderate horse that could be improving. Watch!

RACE 5:MR 76 Hcp 1400m Bend

LONDON'S LEGEND was badly checked over shorter last time. That was over 1200m. Chance to make amends, that is if he gets the 1400m. LEMON FIZZ has steady form and takes quite a plunge in class. URBANE KNIGHT has shown excellent improvement in his last two starts. Must have a chance. COUNT DUMANI does not win often but has consistency on his side. VANDERCAMANDER has fair form but is drawn in the bush!

RACE 6:MR 66 Hcp (F & M) 1400m Bend

NATIONAL EXECUTIVE showed some pace last time before fading late. Chance in this very moderate field. GEORGIAN HEIGHTS is holding current form reasonably well. Chance if running on again. JOLLY JET is never far back. Should be finding extra late. CONDOLEEZA improved last time with an apprentice claim of 4kg. Same apprentice hops aboard this afternoon. CELEBRATION ran on strongly to win over shorter last time. Chance. May have found his feet in PE now.

RACE 7:East Coast Oaks (Listed) (R120 000) 2000m Straight

IMPRESSIVE ROCK raids from Cape Town where he managed three in a row before running below best in her last two. Has won twice over the distance with one second from only four attempts. Must have a huge shout in the feature. RUSH FOR JOHN has good post maiden form but has not won for a while. CAN DO did not show against the "boys" in the Derby over 2400m last time. Consider this afternoon. RED SCENT has very good form and is never far back either. JAZELLE may have more to do but post maiden form is good.

RACE 8:Maiden Plate 1400m Bend

SENOR DOBA had lost form in KZN before showing improvement by many lengths at Arlington on his PE debut last time. Could find this track even more to his liking and should improve even further. CATALOJ ran her best race last time when running on strongly over 1200m at this track. LA SALLE could be rewarded with a maiden win soon if taking form into review. Has finished second this C & D. LOVE IS MAGIC could be improving again. COUNT ME LUCKY has changed stables and makes his PE debut. Fair Cape Town form and should improve. ADD POINT HOPE (Number 4) for the scratched LA SALLE
