RACE 1:Workriders Maiden Plate (F & M) 1160m Straight

CASEY'S CAUSE showed a ten length improvement last time. Could go close. OPPIE KOPPIE may improve over this shorter trip. ELEGANT TUNE stayed on last time and could finish in the first three. Others to consider are DUCHESS TRENTON on an improved latest effort last time and CORNISH DUCHESS who has had two moderate runs but may improve some.

RACE 2:Maiden Juvenile Plate (F) 1160m Straight

IMMEDIATELY has had three excellent runs in her last three starts. Tends to fade late over 1200m. May prefer the ever so slightly shorter trip this afternoon. ANTIGUA has had four good runs from five starts. Should make a race of it. Was running on last time. GREYISH will improve on a fair debut last time when totally unfancied. PLATED GOLD showed excellent improvement last time. Respect. VELVET LADY makes her debut. Watch the betting.

RACE 3:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1160m Straight

BROTHER IN ARMS showed enough improvement last time when running on to suggest that he could have a very good chance of winning his maiden at the fourth attempt. MIESQUES BREEZE has had three runs and has shown up well in all three. Must have a very good chance as well. A couple of first timers could earn in this race. The ones to follow could be KINGSTON and VITRUVIAN MAN. WILD AIR should improve on a moderate debut last time.

RACE 4:Maiden Plate 1160m Straight

COOKIE MONSTER has had two good runs and must be the one that they will all have to catch. Stays on. BLUE SUNDAY ran on very well last time when showing very good improvement. Has to have a money chance on that run. VANTAGE should improve on a fair debut last time. A number of first timers may be worth considering. The betting should be the best guide. Consider all of TURNSTONE, ROYAL TRIBUTE and A HAND FULL.

BEAT THE ODDS does not have the most consistent of form but is capable of a bold showing. Tends to fade but has won this C & D. IRISH GIFT is never too far back but has only shown on the inside track at Turffontein. NEW HAMPTON had fair Cape Town form. Could improve in Gauteng. Could be a danger. VICTORIOUS DESTINY won his maiden last time. may need to confirm but then this is a weak contest. MOONSCAPE could be improving.

RACE 6:MR 75 Hcp 1400m Bend

LARUSSA has some good form and has faced stronger fields in her two most recent starts. Ran on well last time and has a say in the outcome of this race. An apprentice claim of 4kg will assist. SMART GIRL has not won in a while but should give her supporters a decent run for their money. MACLAINE did show improvement last time but may prefer the Vaal turf track. Consider on latest effort. JOANIE GEE disappointed last time. Chance on earlier form. MARGHERITA LOTTI has a small money chance.

RACE 7:MR 86 Hcp (F & M) 1160m Straight

CARIBBEAN CRUISE has run her best races this C & D but takes a drop in class. Chance all the same. The two-year-old, ROOI NOOI, has good post maiden form and her two runs since her maiden win will give her a chance, also against stronger and older! COMIC BEAUTY is in good form but has a tendency to fade when it matters most. TIGER FLO may be worth considering on an improved latest effort. DALALAAT is another two-year-old taking on older rivals. Good enough form to earn something.

RACE 8:MR 90 Hcp 1000m Straight

OH DRISCOLL is proving to be difficult and expensive to follow. He drops in class and on form should be the one to follow. Was running on last time. ESCAPE CLAUSE has won two from three this distance but has yet to run at this track. Expect a strong finish. STAR RATING is never far back but ought to be respected. MAJI MOTO has good form this C & D. Disappointed last time but should be right there. SAINT PIERRE showed improvement last time. One to respect.

RACE 9:MR 72 Hcp 1000m Straight

Respect CAPITOLINE on an impressive win last time by over three lengths. Even though he has to carry an extra 3.5kg, he could make the field run this afternoon. TSITSIKAMA STRIKE did not show over 1200m last time. Prefers the 1000m and has a very good chance. Has a strong finish. LET THE RIVER RUN is never far off them and this happens to be his best distance. RULESOFENGAGEMENT could be improving. BOEING BOEING could improve with the blinkers fitted.
