Sire Flower Alley to Wilgerbosdrift

Wilgerbosdrift proudly announce the purchase of the Internationally acclaimed sire FLOWER ALLEY(USA) who will take up stud duties next year for the 2015 season.
(The opportunity to purchase such a special horse only arose due to the dispersal of the major shareholder's total bloodstock portfolio).

We attach Flower Alley's stallion page from Bloodhorse, together with that of his Champion son, I'll Have Another - now at stud in Japan.

FLOWER ALLEY is a son of the Champion sire Distorted Humor whose Gr1 winning progeny included FUNNY CIDE (Champion 3YO, Kentucky Derby), PATHFORK (Champion 2YO), DROSSELMEYER (Belmont S, Breeders Cup Classic), REGAL RANSOM (Champion), DON DANDY (Champion), SOME ARE BENT (Champion), ANY GIVEN SATURDAY (Haskell St), BOISTEROUS (Man'O War St), etc.

FLOWER ALLEY is a half-brother to two stakes winners and hails from the immediate family of LYPHARD.

FLOWER ALLEY was 2nd Top Rated 3-Y-O in USA, winning the Travers St, Gr.1, Jim Dandy St, Gr.2, Lanes End St, Gr.2 and over $2.5 million in stakes.

At stud, FLOWER ALLEY is already the sire of 14 stakes winners from his first 4 crops (excluding current 2-Y-O's).
He has sired Two Champions including I'LL HAVE ANOTHER- unbeaten at 3 and winner of both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. Sadly, I'll Have Another was injured on the eve of the Belmont Stakes (which was won by a horse he trounced in the Derby) and he was unable to complete the "Triple Crown".
Flower Alley has sired Gr.1 winners of BOTH sexes.
He also sired the winner of last weekend's Gr.2 Sky Classic Stakes -on TURF.

Most importantly, he "upgrades" his mares with an AEI of 1.63 against a Comp AEI of 1.40.
(History has shown us that Northern Hemisphere based "upgraders" like Dancing Champ, Jungle Cove and the likes have been also "upgraders" here.)

It is also worth noting that his two biggest (and best) books of mares were covered in 2012 & 2013 - after he started firing at stud and I'll Have Another become a Champion.
His first 5 crops averaged 65 foals per year, but between 2012 and 2013 seasons he covered over 200 mares.
The progeny from those matings are now just yearlings and foals, so one must assume the best is still to come!.
