Duke Of Marmalade’s 4 year old Hall Of Mirrors, trained by Aiden O’Brien, won the prestigious Kilfrush Royal Whip Stakes Gr.3 on Sunday afternoon at the Curragh Racecourse.
Hall Of Mirrors, took up the running from the get go and led coming into the straight. He had the field struggling with 2 furlongs to go and while he was headed going into the final furlong, it took only a hands and heels ride to comfortably see off the challenges of Group 1 winners Kingsbarns (Galileo) and Parish Hall (Teofilo).
Hall Of Mirrors is Duke Of Marmalade’s 19th stakes horse and is his 8th individual stakes winner in Europe this year, which puts him ahead of Sea The Stars, Dansili, Rock Of Gibraltar and Danehill Dancer on the European sires list by individual stakes winners.
The Royal Whip is Ireland’s oldest continuously run horse race and has been won by some of Ireland’s greats of the Turf, including Alleged (twice), High Chaparrel, Zomaradah (Dam of Dubawi), Eagle Mountain and Fame and Glory. Hall Of Mirrors has entries in the Irish Champion Stakes Gr.1 and Qipco Champion Stakes Gr.1.
