The China Horse Club and Singapore Turf Club have last night jointly-announced the running of the richest race in Singapore which will carry prize money of S$3.05 million in 2015. This new racing event will be one of the highlights of the CECF Singapore, the first international lifestyle, social, business and thoroughbred racing event designed specifically for a Chinese audience.

The CECF Singapore will take place between 20th – 22nd February 2015 and is strategically placed to capitalize on Chinese outbound tourism during the 2015 Chinese New Year celebrations. Approximately 600 million Chinese are travelling domestically and internationally during this time.

The 2015 CECF Singapore will include a number of highlights. These highlights include:

The first festival ever to be designed for a niche market from Mainland China;
The hosting of the richest race in Singapore in 2015 and the unique opportunity to be an ‘Owner for a Day’ in this event;
Singapore’s ‘social event of the year’ the CECF Singapore Gala Dinner;
Bespoke luxury hospitality packages build around the promotion of Singapore as an entertainment destination for Chinese tourists and the creation of a new event designed to keep tourist in Singapore longer;
Broadcasting the event back to China via network(s) with a broadcast reach of 600 million;

Tonight’s announcement was made by respective chairmen Mr Teo Ah Khing (CHC) and Mr Tan Guong Ching (STC) during the glittering 2014 CECF Yangtze Delta Region Gala Dinner, in Shanghai. The gala dinner is the opening event of the CHC’s 2014 CECF showpiece in China.

“There has never been a thoroughbred inspired international event designed to cater for the unique requirements of a niche market from Mainland China, the CECF Singapore changes that. The concept of drawing a population of Chinese, including ultrahigh net worth Chinese, overseas with a sophisticated lifestyle and social festival is very exciting,” said Mr Teo Ah Khing, Chairman of the China Horse Club.

“An event of this statue would not be possible without the continued support and vision of the Singapore Turf Club, its Chairman Mr Tan and senior management.”

The STC was equally positive about the impact this event is expected to have in Singapore. The CECF Singapore provides the STC with another major event to add to its already elite calendar of racing which includes the Singapore Airlines International Cup, Emirates Singapore Derby and Longines Singapore Gold Cup.

CECF Singapore will be a multifaceted festival with a myriad of bespoke events built around a glittering invitation only gala dinner and showpiece race day. One of the most unique elements of this festival will be the opportunity to race a horse in what will be Singapore’s richest race.

The 2015 CECF Singapore will carry the theme, “East Meets West”, which is designed to build on the current CECF 2014 which is promoting “Bringing China to the World & the World to China”.
