Bloodstock South Africa is excited to announce a Select Session of 50 Lots that will be offered for Sale at a glittering gala dinner on Sunday 22 February. This follows their decision to re-enter the yearling sales market in the Cape with the launch of the Val de Vie Yearling Sale at the spectacular venue of the Val de Vie Estate outside Franschhoek.

The Select Session is expected to be welcomed by both breeders and buyers and planning is well under way to create a stunning social event around the sale of our best quality horses.

Unlike the “Green Pages” of past National Yearling Sales, for the Select Session, breeders are invited to use their own judgement and enter the horses they believe will be best suited to the occasion. “You Be The Judge!”

The entry and acceptance fee for the Select Session has been set at R10 000 + VAT which increases the cost of selling by R6 700 + VAT (excluding the Added Stakes Levy of R300 + VAT) compared with the rest of the Sale.

Normal pre-sale screening applies and any Select Session horse Not Sold or is a Vendor Buy Back will be eligible for entry to the National Yearling Sale at no additional cost. This is subject to the normal section criteria for the National Yearling Sale.

Breeders are asked to enter all yearlings in the normal entry form and indicate clearly which horses they wish to be entered onto the Select Session.

The balance of the yearlings will be sold on Monday 23 February.
