South African born riders Glyn and Chad Schofield's will become the first father son combination in 46 years to ride in the same Melbourne Cup tomorrow when they take their places in history.
The race that stops Australia has always been extra special in the landscape of world horseracing and with this special interest for South African's it takes it to the next level.
Glyn will ride the French raider Au Revoir whilst Chad has the leg up on Mr O’Ceirin.
In 1968, George Moore, one of the all-time greats of Australian racing, rode Sandy’s Hope into 13th place. Son Gary, rode receding into 22nd.
