Another three year old filly shines

Within ten minutes of COLD AS ICE'S win in the Grade 2 Sceptre Stakes at Kenilworth in Cape Town, LAZER STAR, trained by Ormond Ferraris and ridden by Weichong Marwing, set the Turffontein race track in the south of Johannesburg alight with an exhilirating finish to beat a competitive field in the Listed Swallow Stakes in facile fashion. Settled in a few lengths and mid field behind the pace setter DRIFTING DUSK, hse was given her head at about the 500m mark and drew off to win impressively. That was her fourth win from four starts and she too looks to have an exciting future ahead.

SILVER CLASS had no chance with the winner but was not disgraced in second.

BY JOVE ran an improved race in third while DRIFTING DUSK faded into fourth and may be better suited to the sprint distances
