Gathering Fame confirms hat trick in Jamaica

Gathering fame confirms hat trick in Jamaica

GATHERING FAME confirmed her talent when she produced a good finish to get up and beat OMATICAYA and CAT AND THE MOON with ease. The four-year-old filly, trained by KZN trainer, Dennis Drier, who had won her post maiden, a MR 67 handicap on the polytrack way back in September, looks to have potential.

The pace was a good one with CAN COPE setting the pace followed by JEWELLER'S JOY, OMATICAYA and ALASCAN MAIDEN. The order did not change until well into the final bend. With many of the contenders finding good finishes, jockey M J Byleveld, soon realised he had a good filly under him and surged home late.

OMATICAYA showed a good return to form, staying on for second, after having won this race last year. CAT AND THE MOON was not disgraced in third and should win again soon. JEWELLER'S JOY stayed on for fourth.
