Marula Sprint (Non-Black Type): A difficult race to call but Sheik's Brashee could sneak the win

Marula Sprint (Non-Black Type): A difficult race to call but Sheik's Brashee could sneak the win

Only nine runners are set to face the starter at the 1200m mark at Scottsville on Tuesday. With R120 000 at stake there could be some healthy competition for top honours. SHEIK'S BRASHEE returns to his favourite track in KZN where he has won three of his four starts here. Last time he won another non black type feature at this track, the African Holly Handicap over 1000m. The way in which they finished in that race could suggest that he could see out the 1200m, a distance over which he has placed second.

PEJ finished 5,5 lengths in third behind the talented LAZER STAR in the Magnolia at Turffontein last time. He has always shown some promise and with Anton Marcus back in the saddle must have something of a shout. He is unbeaten over the 1200m with four wins from four over the 1200m.

KINGSTON BOY can never be underestimated and finished well over 1400m last time. His form over this distance is very good and on his day could quite easily make the frame.

When it comes to being course and distance suited, there are few better than FLYFIRSTCLASS. He is speedy and must be given a chance if holding on.

The last time ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR worse blinkers was two runs back and this did improve his performance in the Xmas Handicap. He has them on again today and is one that should not be overlooked.

1st - SHEIK'S BRASHEE (5); 2nd - PEJ (4); 3rd - KINGSTON BOY (1); 4th - FLYFIRSTCLASS (3); ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR (2)
