NON-BLACK TYPE umTHOMBOTHI HANDICAP: RAAEES looks to add another feature race success to the Mike De Kock yard

The Mike De Kock trained RAAEES began his career very impressively but found himself becalmed in the doldrums for a while. He did come back to form last time when he won a pinnacle event over further at Scottsville. That day he found himself trailing early on after a slow start but did get going late to win going away. He has this tendency to be slow away in every start. Any repeat of that finish on the turf at Greyville this afternoon and he could win again.

CANDY MOON has very good form but her best runs have come over distances shorter than the 2000m of today. In his favour, he will be finding extra late. He was not disgraced when finishing three lengths behind FUTURA at this track in May last year. That makes his chances on success in this race even greater.

JOSHUA'S CROWN is another horse with a tendency to lose ground at the start. He too, though, finishes well enough to pose a threat. He may be better suited to slightly shorter but don't ignore his chances.

Of the balance,KING NEPTUNE is improving and AUCTION KING could cause an upset.

1st - RAAEES (7); 2nd - CANDY MOON (2); 3rd - JOSHUA'S CROWN (1); 4th - KING NEPTUNE (4); 5th - AUCTION KING (8)
