GRADE 3 ACACIA HANDICAP: BE MINE TONIGHT has very good chance with light mass

BE MINE TONIGHT won very comfortably last time when finishing well in the latter stages to win a pinnacle stakes event over shorter. She is certainly in top form, having won five of her eleven career starts with only two finishes outside the top four. She has won over today's distance. Today's race will be her third start after a lengthy rest since June and should by all intents and purposes she should be at her peak for this race. She only has to carry 53½kg and has the services of S'Manga Khumalo who partnered her last time as well.

WHATALADY has won her last three starts but, even though she has never met BE MINE TONIGHT before may struggle with having to concede 5½kg, which is not going to be an easy task. She has won this C & D which should give her something of a decent shout.

Mike De Kock sends out three runners, of which WISDOM STONE looks to be best equipped to mount a challenge from the world renowned conditioner. Last two runs have been disappointing runs against similar strength fields.

CAPTAIN'S DELIGHT has a chance on her penultimate run with Piere Strydom aboard. He has the ride again this afternoon. She will need a far better finish this time around.

Ignore the latest run of AMBER ORCHID. She was well below herself that day and was reported to have respiratory noises. She is 3½kg better off than WHATALADY for an almost 5 length beating. Should be able to get much closer this time around.

1st - BE MINE TONIGHT (9); 2nd - WHATALADY (2); 3rd - WISDOM STONE (7); CAPTAIN'S DELIGHT (5); 5th - AMBER ORCHID (8)
