GRADE 2 BETTING WORLD GAUTENG GUINEAS: HARRY'S SON looks the part

The Australian bred HARRY'S SON looks the part for this race. he has had a phenomenal summer with some impressive runs against top horses around the country. Trained by KZN trainer, Paul Lafferty, his racing has not been restricted to Durban. He won a feature at this track in November, went back to Durban only to return here four weeks later to run a great and gutsy second to UNPARALLELED in the Dingaans. A month later he was off to Cape Town where he finished second to ACT OF WAR in the Guineas. Jockey Piere Strydom, who has ridden him in his last five starts, climbs aboard again this afternoon. His record suggests that he should win an important race soon and he will be staying on in an effort to do so this afternoon.

There are a number of very good horses that could make their presence felt in this contest. Top of the list has to be UNPARALLELED, a highly rated horse and one who doddled home impressively in the Dingaans back in November. That day he left HARRY'S SON standing in the latter stages and went on to beat his main rival for this afternoon by over four lengths. The meet at level weights again this afternoon and while HARRY'S SON looks to be better than that four length beating, could have his work cut out to overturn the deficit. An interesting contest between these two protagonists.

Top Gauteng trainer, Sean Tarry, who has had great success in recent times, sends out ZAMBEZI RIVER. This son of TRIPPI was running on well last time. He has won at this track but has been racing in Cape Town for the past few months. Not one to be ignored at any level.

MUTAMAKKIN looks to be useful sort with some good form but against slightly weaker. He may do enough for the places. He finished second in his only start this C & D. Anthony Delpech rides for Mike De Kock.

Cape Town trainer, Vaughan Marshall, send out the useful MLJET who can find a good finish. He is never too far back and is an outsider that has a decent chance in this field.

1st - HARRY' SON (1); 2nd - UNPARALLELED (2); 3rd - ZAMBEZI RIVER (8); 4th - MUTAMAKKIN (11); 5th - MLJET (4)
