LISTED RIVERSIDE HANDICAP (R150 000) - 1450m - BROOKS-CLUB looks the part

BROOKS-CLUB has had two good runs in his last two, but on the grass. That should not be too much of a problem for this six-year-old son of Strike Smartly as he has won and placed this C & D before. He ran on well in his last two but his run before that on this track over 1600m did catch the eye. The main concern will be the state of the going as he has shown a distinct disliking for wet conditions and that looks to be what is expected over the next few days.

One to seriously consider is the Vaughan Marshall inmate from Cape Town, CHESTNUT'S ROCKET, who is better than his current form may suggest. Two runs back he faded over further and last time against a good field, stumbled at the start. Do not wrirte off his chances just yet. He may take a liking to the sand track, the track on which he makes his debut this afternoon.

One can never ignore the chances of the Sean Tarry yard in any class of race. He sends out TAPTAP MAKHATINI who has been racing against some good fields. Piere Strydom has the ride. All five of his wins have been at this track. Should earn.

SHADOW LINE has had his problems but at best can make the frame. He was returning from a three month break last time and could have needed the run. One to keep an eye on in this field.

The stable companion of TAPTAP MAKHATINI, SAMOGAN takes on stronger but has proved himself in this class. S'Manga Khumalo rides.

1st - BROOKS-CLUB (6); 2nd - CHESTNUT'S ROCKET (4); 3rd - TAPTAP MAKHATINI (5); 4th - SHADOW LINE (2); 5th - SAMOGAN (13)
