HONG KONG GLORY FOR Soft Falling Rain Brother

The Highlands Farm bred Five Up High (formerly known as My Nephew Eric), picked up his first Hong Kong win at Sha Tin on Sunday.
A son of Ascot Stud’s successful young Gone West stallion Sail From Seattle, Five Up High had won his only outing in South Africa prior to being exported, but Sunday’s victory was his first success in six Hong Kong outings.

The four-year-old gelding (who has now banked over HK$900 000) pulled clear of his chasing rivals to register a comprehensive one and a half length win for former South African champion trainer Tony Millard and jockey Neil Callan in the 1400m handicap. No doubt the pair will be delighted with the blue blooded gelding’s victory!

Five Up High is out of the winning Giant’s Causeway mare Gardener’s Delight and is thus a half brother to former Equus Champion 2YO Colt and recently retired star Soft Falling Rain.
Owned by the Five Up High Syndicate, Sunday’s Hong Kong winner was a R1 million purchase from the 2012 National Sale.
