GRADE 3 BYERLEY TURK - First win for trainer Justin Snaith this Winter Season in KZN with HEARTLAND
HEARTLAND, continued with his good form when he found a very good finish to win the Grade 3 Byerley Turk at Greyville over 1400m. The three year old son of DYNASTY has yet to run out of the top three in his short career. Today's win, his third from six runs, will certainly not be his last in graded races and is one who will enjoy distances beyond this 1400m in the not too distant future. Cape Town trainer, Justin Snaith began his KZN Winter Season where he left off last season and he must have an exciting future mapped out for HEARTLAND this Winter Season. His total earnings passed the R250 000 mark.
KINGS ARCHER was the first to show from HIGHWAY EXPLORER, HEARTLAND and EASY LOVER. The heavily backed KINGVOLDT was closer to the back of the field than the front in the early stages as he fought rigorously with jockey Anton Marcus and battled to settle early on.
EASY LOVER moved around the field to lead them by the halfway stage from HIGHWAY EXPLORER, KINGS ARCHER and HEARTLAND, who was well paced throughout by jockey Sean Cormack.
At the top of the straight HEARTLAND had moved up well to take command. KINGVOLDT did get going late but was never going to get to his market rival. Both EASY LOVER and KINGS ARCHER stayed on well for third and fourth respectively.
