Calvin Habib, a 1st year apprentice at the South African Jockey Academy campus at Summerveld, rode his 1st winner as an apprentice jockey in Race 4 at Greyville Racecourse on Friday 17 April, aboard No. 1 "MISSMASALA" trained by Sean Tarry.

Calvin, son of retried jockey Donovan Habib, joined the Academy in January this year after successfully competing and winning races in the the Gauteng Work Riders Series in 2014. Calvin, a dedicated and hard working apprentice, has hit the ground running at Summerveld and there sure to be many more winners from this young apprentice.
