EAST CAPE OAKS (Listed) For 3 year old Fillies - KUMIKO and EROS'S GIRL set to fight it out

The weekend's feature race program gets underway in Port Elizabeth this afternoon. Some very good and important feature races take place at Turffontein on Saturday. It would not be wise to ignore the Listed East Cape Oaks. From this race there could be a few entries  for some of the staying races for three year olds during the KZN Winter Season.

One such three year old filly could be KUMIKO from the Alan Greeff yard. Her form has been very consistent and her sire, SILVANO, is a proven stayer. The 2000m looks to be perfectly suited for her and she is taken to win a closely fought contest between her and the Justin Snaith trained EROS'S GIRL. This three year old made her PE debut last time after having raced against stronger in Cape Town. Bernard Fayd'Herbe will ride. Is also bred to stay the extra.

NIGHT FALL will have to repeat some of her Gauteng form and has had two disappointing runs in PE. She could be the big improver in this race. Interestingly S'Manga Khumalo has been engaged to ride and that could make her stand a chance.

Cape Town trainer, Mike Bass, has CAROUSEL SWING in the race. This will be her toughest assignment to date and is one to pay special attention to as her conditioner must race this daughter of Trippi's chances to have entered her into this race. The distance should not pose too many problems.

BOUNTIFUL HARVEST has been weakening but one has to respect the Justin Snaith yard.

1st -  KUMIKO (2); 2nd -EROS'S GIRL  (1); 3rd - NIGHT FALL (5); 4th - CAROUSEL SWING (4); 5th - BOUNTIFUL HARVEST (3)
