IN FULL FLIGHT HANDICAP (Listed) - GULF STORM shades MOOFEED in tight finish
The first of six features on today's Scottsville card produced an exciting and close finish when the Brett Crawford trained GULF STORM just shaded the tote favourite and Mike De Kock trained MOOFEED. Shortly after the finish there was a race review. No further action was called.
The field broke well with GARIBONDY showing good early pace from VELVET VERONA. GARIBONDY led the race for about 500m with the favourite MOOFEED about six lengths back with half the race done. FLYFIRSTCLASS also showed in the early stages. In fact most of the field looked to have chances.
With 400m the Cape Town trained GULF STORM moved up powerfully and was chased home in the last 200m by the Gauteng trained MOOFEED. They fought it out until the line but GULF STORM held on gamely for the win.
