Champion trainer elect, Sean Tarry, pulled off another Grade 1 for the season when he won the 1200m sprint with CARRY ON ALICE, who has now won five times from fourteen starts, and her most important win to date.
The start was a good one with GARIBONDY the quickest to show. The field made a dive for the inside where the pace was on right from the start. JET AGLOW was the leader for most of the race with VARIKATE just behind. The two market rivals, CARRY ON ALICE and ALBORAN SEA raced side by side for most of the race, until they both moved up to within striking distance. It was evident some way out that CARRY ON ALICE was always going to get the better of ALBORAN SEA. With 300m to go CARRY ON ALICE pulled away from her market rival and scored an easy win with S'Manga Khumalo in the irons.
FLY BY NIGHT flew up late to challenge ALBORAN SEA for second with VIRGO'S BABE, who was always travelling well finishing further back in fourth.
This win by CARRY ON ALICE has pushed her earnings up to over R1 800 000, which is no mean feat for a three year old filly.
