EAST CAPE PADDOCK STAKES (Listed) - Cape Town raider SUPREME SUNSET wins listed feature
The Cape Town raider, SUPREME SUNSET produced a powerful finish to win the listed East Cape Paddock Stakes over 1600m at the Fairview polytrack, a race that was switched from the turf track a few days ago.
The start was a good one. GOLDIE COAST led the field for most of the race and was the first to show. The two year old filly SHIRAZ CABERNET followed GOLDIE COAST from VARSTER and FACINATING FILLY.
GOLDIE COAST led them into the home straight a good three lengths and at a good pace. With 200m left to go there were many with chances. SUPREME SUNSET and NONKI POO fought it out over the final hundred metres. The former just made it home from a very game NONKI POO. GOLDIE COAST stayed on for third wit DREAM TO REALITY running on from way back to finish fourth.
This was the four year daughter of WESTERN WINTER'S fourth win from twenty one starts. Her earning our now just short of the R500 000.
