Champion jockey-elect Silvestre de Sousa will team up with Stewards' Cup winner Magical Memory in Saturday's Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.

Frankie Dettori was in the saddle when the Charlie Hills-trained three-year-old landed the valuable handicap at Glorious Goodwood.

Dettori suggested supplementing Magical Memory for the Group One prize but he is now set to ride Danzeno for Mick Appleby at the weekend.

Sam Hoskins, representing owners Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds, said: "Everything is a bonus with him now.

"We took the advice of Frankie to supplement him for the race, yet ironically he has jumped ship and now rides Danzeno, which is probably a tip in itself.

"Silvestre de Sousa is going to ride him instead.

"He's a great jockey who has been underrated for a long time and is finally getting the rewards he's deserved.

"We're aware it's a big step up and if he could finish in the first six, that would be fantastic. To win it would just be a dream."

Henry Candy is set to launch a formidable twin assault on the Merseyside feature after confirming both Limato and Twilight Son as intended runners.

Limato has missed a number of engagements since chasing home Muhaarar in the inaugural Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot due to his preference for a quick surface.

Twilight Son has won each of his four starts to date and is set to step up in class following a valuable handicap success at York in July.

Candy said: "It's looking hopeful (ground-wise) for Limato. He seems in good order.

"He (Twilight Son) will run as well, all being well. It's probably a crazy idea, but we'll give it a go.

"Graham Lee will ride Limato and Fergus (Sweeney) will ride Twilight Son."
