Callan Murray to contest IFAHR Apprentice Jockey Championship

4th Year Apprentice Callan Murray will be jetting off to Abu Dhabi on Monday 2 November to contest the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (IFAHR) Apprentice Jockey Championship to be held at the Abu Dhabi Racecourse on Sunday 8th November.
Murray, who will be under the guidance of Gauteng Jockey Academy Riding Master Gary Waterston, said he was very excited to be chosen to represent South Africa and was looking forward to the experience.
“I am very very excited to represent South Africa at the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (IFAHR) Apprentice Jockey Championship especially since this is my first international trip. Some of my fellow apprentices such as Keagan de Melo and Donovan Dillon have done well in this challenge and I’m looking forward to emulating their success” Murray said.
The 4th year apprentice is in excellent form and recently received his coveted White Blazer for riding 60 winners as an Apprentice. Murray has had 9 winners so far for the season with 84 places and is up for the challenge and will represent South Africa proudly.
