Green Street present lots at Cape Sale

Green Street Bloodstock, the rising stars amongst the syndication scene in South Africa will be acting as consigners for the first time at the forthcoming Lanzerac Ready To Run Sale hosted by Cape Thoroughbred Sales. Green Street send nine lots to Durbanville with gallops to be held on Thursday this week followed by the sale on Friday. Green Street director Justin Vermaak was quick to inform us that although Green Street are consigners this year, they definitely expect to be active as buyers and acquire further horses for their syndicate operation which has grown to a string in excess of twenty horses, from a mere three at the start of this year. Any prospective buyers interested in purchasing shares can contact them at their website www.greenstreetbloodstock.co.za

We asked Justin to comment on a colt and a filly from their draft that looks promising and this is what he had to say :

“Lot 171 is a Seventh Rock colt called Shining Knight. He is a really late foal who has done extremely well and still has plenty of scope, he is an impressive specimen. He qualifies for the CTS Million Dollar and the Lanzerac Ready To Run once he goes through the ring and after the back to back Gr1 Gold Medallion winners sired by Seventh Rock namely Guiness and Seventh Plain, his colts could be in demand.”

“Lot 102 is a Dynasty filly out of a stakes winning mare, what else could you ask for. She is a bit on the small side, typical of a first foal but is compact and well made, she has grass galloped well and seems a bit ahead of her work partners. She could be a great chance to own a progeny of Dynasty for a reasonable price, Beach Beauty wasn’t much bigger!”
