MORE IRISH-BRED STATESIDE SUCCESS


LADY LARA (IRE) led home an Irish-bred 1-2-3 in Saturday’s Grade 3 My Charmer Handicap at Gulfstream Park West. LADY LARA (IRE) clearly enjoyed the return to Florida scoring the first time since March when she won the Grade 2 Honey Fox Stakes at Gulfstream Park but finishing placed twice in Graded contests in that time. LADY LARA (IRE) went off favourite with fellow Irish-bred Sandiva (IRE) going off second favourite. They raced alongside each other until LADY LARA (IRE) kicked for home on the final turn with Hope Cross (IRE) 1¼ lengths back in second and Sandiva (IRE) settling for third. Bred by Shanty Syndicate in Ireland and currently racing in the colours of Swettenham Stud.

There was further Irish-bred success stateside on Saturday with JEREMY’S LEGACY (IRE) winning a two-year-old maiden most impressively at Del Mar for Doug O'Neill. JEREMY’S LEGACY (IRE) was previously trained in Ireland by Paul Flynn before been sold to current connections in a deal brokered by Niall Dalton.
