CTS Select Mare Sale 2016

Cape Thoroughbred Sales have confirmed the schedule for their 2016 Select Mare Sale.
The Select Mare Sale will be staged at the magnificent Highlands Farm Stud near Robertson on the 10th June 2016. Stud manager at Highlands, Mike Sharkey revealed, “We are pleased to host this important event, and will make it an extra- special day for all in attendance.”
The Select Mare Sale provides breeders with the forum to either acquire promising new bloodlines or bring to market potently bred mares.
Historically, Ireland is a renowned provider of exceptional thoroughbreds, including a source of fine imported mares and the batch of 2015 from the “Emerald Isle” will certainly attract attention. CTS Managing Director Adrian Todd confirmed, “We are offering some great imported bloodlines, which breeders will be eager to get their hands on, so bidding will be frenetic.”
Saturday 11th June will give keen golfers in the racing community the chance to grace the fairways at Silwerstrand G. C. in Robertson. The well-staged Klawervlei Golf day annually attracts enthusiasts who have built up strong relationships over the years with the current champion breeders. This is a sociable gathering characterised by generous hospitality and good -humoured sporting banter.
The action on Sunday the 12th June then shifts across to Klawervlei Stud itself for their annual Farm Sale. As expected from vendors that are at the pinnacle of their profession, quality stock will be on offer to suit all requirements. Given the range of top-notch stallions and a superior mare band based at Klawervlei, the catalogue will be tempting, with genuine value on offer for alert buyers.
These three events promise a festive gathering for the racing and breeding fraternity. June may well be mid-winter, but all participants will be treated to a genuinely warm BAR Valley welcome and a long-weekend of fun, loaded with great buying opportunities.
