BRADLOWS / MORKELS IPI TOMBE CHALLENGE (Grade 2) - BICHETTE in good form to take the IPI TOMBE

The Sean Tarry trained BICHETTE has won four from her nine starts and has been lightly raced since making her debut in November last year. On the way she has faced some pretty strong fields and ran short distances behind champion horses. This afternoon she has every chance to elevate herself to her second Grade 2 career win. Last time at the track she won with authority against a slightly weaker field. Seven of her nine runs have been at this track where all four of her wins have been recorded. She won very well last time over 1400m. She has run once before over 1600m and on that day she found it just out of her range. Trainer Sean Tarry will no doubt have her finely tuned for this afternoon's race and it would not be surprising to see her make the distance with some ease. S'Manga Khumalo is back aboard.

SMART CALL won the Grade 1 Woolavington at Greyville in May when she beat a useful field. She may have needed her latest run and should have come along since her latest run after the rest. This smart four year old filly still has a number of important wins left in her and she has already amassed over R1 million. Her best runs have been with Weichong Marwing in the saddle. She is not ante post favourite for nothing.

Respect  the stable companion of BICHETTE, TROPHY WIFE. Even though she hasn't won in over a year, her form has been very good as well as consistent and against much stronger opposition. Can get into the mix late on.

PENNINGTON SANDS has been moving up the ranks and has been running well in all division. She will be doing her best work late but may prefer slightly further.

LOVE TO SAIL may have a bit more to find but one has to respect the Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech on feature race days, especially.

1st - BICHETTE (2); 2nd - SMART CALL (1); 3rd - TROPHY WIFE (3); 4th - PENNINGTON SANDS (6); 5th - LOVE TO SAIL (4)
