IRISH BRED SON OF GALILEO NAMED CZECH HORSE OF THE YEAR

TOUCH OF GENIUS (IRE), an Irish-bred son of Galileo (IRE), has been crowned 2015 Horse Of The Year and Champion Three-Year-Old Male in the Czech Republic. Josef Vana's colt won both the Czech and Slovak Derbys last year after being purchased out of the Aidan O'Brien stable unraced. Out of Cheveley Park third Festoso (IRE), TOUCH OF GENIUS (IRE) has a juvenile full-sister as well as a three-year-old half-sister by Montjeu (IRE) named Pure Innocence (IRE). Festoso (IRE) is a half-sister to Prix Jean Prat victor and sire Olden Times, out of a Group 3 winning half-sister to King's Stand Stakes fourth Abha.

 

SKARA (IRE) was crowned champion juvenile filly after a 2015 career that included an impressive five length win in the Cenz Masise Grand Hotel Cup in August. The daughter of Rathasker sire Clodovil (IRE) is a half-sister to two Listed winners and her Born To Sea (IRE) half-sister sold to MAB Agency for €78,000 at last year's Goffs Orby Sale. Czech Oaks winner AMGA RIVER (IRE), a Dylan Thomas half-sister to the Group 2 placed Montaff, took Champion Three-Year-Old Mare honours.

 

Completing the achievements by Irish-bred horses, the Kevin Foley-bred MIKESH (IRE), offered at Tattersalls Ireland as a yearling, was awarded the title of Top Sprinter.
