VERY SPECIAL LIVES UP TO HER NAME AT MEYDAN

Godolphin's four-year-old filly VERY SPECIAL (IRE) lived up to her name with an impressively easy win in the Group 2 Cape Verdi at Meydan on Thursday. The Ballylinch Stud-bred VERY SPECIAL (IRE) becomes the seventh individual Group winner by her breeder's excellent young sire Lope De Vega (IRE), who will stand the 2016 season at a fee of €45,000. A five length winner on debut, Saeed bin Suroor's charge finished two and a quarter lengths third behind Osaila (IRE) in the Tattersalls Millions Juvenile Fillies Trophy on her only other juvenile start, adding another win and two Listed placings to her record as a three-year-old. The progressive filly is a half-sister to the ill-fated dual Group 1 winner Chriselliam (IRE) and the Grade 3 placed Janicellaine (IRE). Their Danehill (IRE) dam is out of Phoenix Sprint Stakes winner Ingabelle, making her a half-sister to Group 1 winner Eva's Request (IRE) and Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Priory Belle (IRE), herself the grand-dam of Australian Group 1 winner Opinion (IRE).

Danielli (IRE) has a two-year-old colt by Henrythenavigator and a yearling filly by champion sire Galileo (IRE), whom she is once again in foal to.
