Dubai Turf Ultimate Target for Euro Charline

Team Valor International's Euro Charline will prep in the United Arab Emirates for the $6 million Dubai Turf (UAE-I) on the March 26 World Cup card rather than in England as initially planned because of the availability of jockey Ryan Moore.

According to a Feb. 10 Team Valor release, the 5-year-old British-bred mare will use the March 3 Balanchine Stakes (UAE-II) as her prep for the Dubai Turf, in which she faltered to finish fourth last year behind Solow, The Grey Gatsby, and Mshawish after holding a commanding lead heading into the stretch.

Plans to prep Euro Charline in Meydan rather than England came about when trainer Marco Botti was able to sign champion jockey Moore who rode the mare to an impressive victory in the Beverly D. Stakes (gr. IT) at Arlington International Racecourse in 2014 the only time he was aboard.

"We have been trying to get Ryan back aboard the mare ever since the Beverly D.," Team Valor International president Barry Irwin said. "She is a hard mare to settle and Ryan has the knack. He was able to get her to relax at Arlington Park and it is key that she begin her season with a relaxed attitude instead of trying to use her speed early in a race."

A daughter of Myboycharlie, Euro Charline has won four of 11 starts, with three placings, and has earned $1,004,466.
